While I believe that the aristocracy should be abolished, stopping granting hereditary titles while keeping the old ones was pretty stupid.

At least in 1900 or 1950, if you did something great, you could be given a title and your descendants would carry this. Now the hereditary aristocracy is a fixed class that's utterly impossible to join.

The "aristocracy" system of feudalism comes from one source only: the heads of militarised tribes conquering peoples who were stripped of their organic leadership, a system originating in Europe from the Indo-Europeans.
