They had a base in Finland and everything, and Finland relied solely on the USSR to defend them.

Kekkonen was yliarvostettu paska. He just copied the foreign policy first formulated by Paasikivi, who could speak russian fluently, because he worked there as a banker before the revolution. He was also instrumental in the peace negotiations with the Soviets. Kekkonen didnt speak any foreign language fluently and was taken advantage of especially in the 70's as he became more senile.

Russians sold that shit to everyone. We paid with western goods, ships and stuff and received Russian garbage. Effectively Russians robbed us.
T72M1 was an export model and useless against Russian tanks but were forced to buy those because Cucckonen did nothing. The final hustle by Russians was to sell us useless export BUKs.
As soon a Russia collapsed we were allowed to buy decent western gear. And we had less equipment during Soviets than now. There was 100 T72M1s during Cold War. Another useless batch was bought from the estate of DDR because it was for free.
During Cucckonen's reign Russians robbed us so bad 700k Finns had to escape poverty to Sweden. During Martti Ahtisaari, who was a NATO supporter and Russia was in the toilet, Finland had the fastest economic growth ever nad Finns didn't have to move abroad.
tl:dr Cucckonen was the worst cuck the world has seen and Russian gear was monkey models i.e. useless
