Can't even get a clear hit for that on Google, all I found was a post explaining that the miners will pay gas using a smart contact instead of having the pool operator pay all the gas. Not really an improvement at all. Especially because ETH is a security and every transaction involving ETH will need to be recorded and submitted, as a security trade. Even if it's pennies of gas.
