is there any good nonfiction history book that covers the Roman Monarchy through the Empire in depth? I would assume I'd have to read several to get an in depth look at the whole Roman history, covering all sorts of things from commoner life, urban and rural, war, gladiators, politics, science, math, etc.

I bought this book and I'm looking for more books about WWII. I have pic related and a book about Rommel. Any recommendation?
