They learn Icelandic, it's just that English influence through media is too strong. Icelandic media can't compete with the the amount of English so youngsters take influence of it. It happens here too but not as much due to more language support. It's hard for them when their population is small so please try to understand.

We have an incredibly small population in our countries. Faroese Island are something around 60000, Iceland is a coule hundred thousand, Norway, Denmark, Finland got around 5 million and Sweden 10 million. So there's not lots of people to create media to surround ourselves in. That's not even mentioning dubs and subs in movies, making norwegian or icelandic dubs or subs in a game or movie is just as costfull as it is making it in french for example so almost no games bother. I have literally only seen Norwegian in Valve games and Minecraft, a Swedish game.
In Mexico, you have a population of 127 million people and you speak Spanish, one of the biggest languages in the world. That's not even mentioning that our languages have similar traits to English due to common roots, making this whole situation even harder.
