Had a massive debate with a few people today about taxes. they thought taxes weren't high enough and they'd happily pay more.
Another said he didn't mind if a wasteman next door to him bummed off welfare. Their argument was higher taxes = better wealth distribution

Some people think you have to bribe the lowest dregs in society (or ppl down on their luck) with free money or else they'll start killing people indiscriminately moreso than they already do.
Why would you want to distribute your wealth, it's understandable if my taxes go for building infrastucture and free healthcare etc but why the fuck would some random bum or nigger deserve someone else's money?

Taxing an income makes it less desirable to obtain that income. Subsidising a state of life makes it more desirable to take that life.
Taxing the most successful and giving to the least successful is the most surefire way to degeneracy.

Taxing profits makes investments less desirable and thereby makes consumption more desirable. Society and prosperity only come to be through investments - investments separate man from brute. By making investments less desirable, there will be a greater amount of poor people in the future.
The people who bring the most to the productive table, measured mostly in the terms of the desires of the mass consumer, are the ones who receive the highest paycheck - even if you do not understand what it is they do.
Wealth inequality is not necessarily bad, because people are not equal. The best society would allocate resources to the extent that people are considered valuable to society by their fellow valuable men. This is, for some part, an ethical idea which people of the U.K. will never again understand.
Public spending on "free" things suffers from the fatal flaw of being uneconomisable. In choosing between different types of teachers, different types of medicines, different types of training, different building structures, the state is blind when it gives them all out for free. This means that it will end up using resources valued by others in a way that could've been done by consuming less valued resources.
The state is corrupt. Most of its moneys go to bureaucracies that must form seeing as there is no profit incentive in nationalised industries.
