I went from wanting to kms in first two weeks, to getting used to it and realized I can laugh and start over again at any point of my life, if I somehow hit the low again and won't bitch abouy it. I went to college for computer science but dropped out when I realized a degree isn't totally necessary. Just diversify and learn a few different languages - Node.JS and Python are very hot right now. Learn some other technologies such as Dockery, and EVERYTHING you do on your Github

I'm going to college for comp sci and I went to ME based high school. So even though there was a lot of bullshit courses during mechanic courses and the tests were full of incredible abstract examples, I kind of did it.

Engineers at my work don’t really apply that stuff, but I’m not in design. Production engineers are more like managers/integrators from my experience. Don’t think you will find much manufacturing requiring a P.E. Except maybe in design or R&D

I don't know much about drawing and planning machinea out on computer, we didn't have any CAD lectures, but it can't be that hard to draw and plan machine out, if you got an idea I guess.

machines run off a plc which uses ladder logic if that's what youre talking about. idk about machine learning I just know plc / robotics teaching type of programming is nothing like traditional software development. Just do whatever you want though I kind of want to leave manufacturing for software cause the pay but I'm not sure if I could wax my carrot on a computer all day coding.

You might know some stuff but the technical aspects have like unlimited information. Machining and Material science in general just have so much. I personally don't know how to weld but when I finish my degree I have the option between stick welding and industrial communication and my work uses a lot of computers and we don't have a welder so I'm good on welding. Working at McDonald's, I learnt the average person is retarded. To be clear, I'm not talking about the workers, I'm talking about the average person who views that job as being for "stupid" people.

Working in the kitchen, on both sites (and I'm guessing this is the same for many takeout places), you need be able to not only make a variety of orders fast, but also monitor your food supplies to make sure you'll be able to continually meet the oncoming flow. Something I found incredibly difficult during extremely busy times. Also add in shift managers who are tough on you, and it can turn into quite an emotional strain.

You needed some level of physical fitness, and you needed to be able to communicate and remember what you're told, and work well in a team, or effectively on your own.

You also needed to remember how take apart and put back together many different items or pieces of stoveware/ cooking instruments.

Most people would not be able to perform these tasks well, because they can't do them in any setting well. The stock standard human is fucking stupid.
