It is not all price speculation, but that is a large part of it. Crypto fixes the abstraction from banks, in which you own your money first, not a central org.
This means fraud (a multi billion dollar a year industry) cannot exist. Theft can, and does.
Eth is tokenizing a new generation of startups. Steem is growing in usage and user base. You can buy fractions of mcdonalds stock on bitshares.
Just because you don't want to see it doesn't mean it's not happening.
