In Glasgow, anywhere north of the Clyde and east of Glasgow Green is grim and deprived. In the 60s the city bulldozed large parts of slum housing away in favour of moving people into new suburban flats, but the people brought their slum mentality with them.
New areas like Easterhouse along with gentrified slum housing make up some of the worst places to live in the UK, Glasgow as a whole has a life expectancy of 71 and some areas with gang violence can be as low as 54.

There is a church in the center of the projects, the culture is much different. Doesn't stop these people from being poor but at least they aren't killing each other like in Detroit or Philly. There are still drugs but mostly weed that adolescents smoke. It's also not far from Downtown so there is heavier police presence in the surrounding areas than in the county.
