Might as well read up on 19th century bullshit about how skullshape determines criminality. The truth is that geography does not only shape your immediate society, it also shapes people genetically. So yes, it really is down to geography and chaotic chance factors at the end of the day, but genetic differences are a non-negligible part of it. You need a region that favours trade, agriculture, the emergence of certain military-political-economic structures but you also need a population that exhibits the traits necessary to make those structures stable. No matter how hard you try you will not be able to run a fair and open civil society on a national scale in a very low IQ population or a deeply inbred tribally divided population
No, this book has not been discredited. IQ is a good indicator of success in math, memory and spatial orientation but doesn't mean shit in terms of communication, economic management, agriculture, etc. East Asians have higher IQs than whites yet are less successful as nations. Arabs have IQs similar to the whites but also have less successful nations.

There's no such thing as cultural appropriation. Inventions and ideas have been spread very freely among humans for as long as humans have existed, and it is in the very essence of humans to share those things.
