Yep, i learned it through school and still have the diploma's i got when i graduated each level of swimming abillities.
The fun part was the test to dive to the bottom of the pool and swim all the way to the other side hugging the floor, touch the wall and swim back again and surface.

This is true, my single most terrifying experience was out at sea. When i was 12, i was swimming towards a reef that lay relatively close to shore and came face to face with a 6 foot/1.8 meter Barracuda and that beast started to swim towards me slowly. I never swam as fast in my whole life as in that moment.

Here have this documentary where they talk with people about yemenites and it has most of the discussions translated.
The interviews themselves are pretty poorly done because he isn't asking them and just states(no question words it's more of using "what" at most and sometimes not even that) , basically street language and it's not very clear.. And the translation isn't good because one person said "it isn't practical nowadays" and they translated "it isn't allowed".

My grandfather dosen't tho, he even has a funny story, when he was young he used to be in the boy scouts and he had to pass tests to get the next title. When they called him for the swimming test, he just told them that he can do anything but swimming.
