Spend 18 months in asia teaching english

>spend 18 months in asia teaching english
>try to go back to the west
>fucking hate it so much
>miss teaching kids
>miss Korea in general
>moving to Korea permanently in November to become an English teacher and eventually open my own English school

i'm not sure how to express how NICE Korea is to live in, so comfortable, convenient, and fantastic food.

nah, if i was going to just sexpat i'd go to the phillipines. they are the cutest little brown twinks

bump

planning on moving to taiwan or thailand someday for similar. west is collapsing. go asian while you still can.

If I had a bachelors degree I'd probably be doing the same. But then again, I know many different people that fell for that meme and got stuck in it, hated teaching, wanted to move back to the US but had nowhere to stay, no money, no job lined up.

I wish the West was more like Japan and Korea
I don't understand how they're doing everything so well

Marco

they aren't held back by their boomers and they force people into retirement when they get too old

Stop spreading that disgusting language to innocent Korean children

>stop helping them be successful internationally!

Han Hsi: 80% of Korean food and accommodation business is closed within 5 years
August 27, 2018 09: 27 minutes
[ Korea Economic Newspaper / Central Japan Report] comment12 sharemixi
It was revealed that 8 out of 10 food and drink / accommodation companies were out of business within 5 years after opening.

According to a report entitled "Survival Determination Factor and Suggestion of Tourism Accommodation Industry" released by the National Institute of Industrial Science and Technology on February 26, the 5-year survival rate of food and accommodation industry was only 17.9% on the basis of 2015. This is about 20 points lower than the manufacturing survival rate of 38.4% for the same period.

One year survival rate was 59.5%, 10.6 points lower than 70.1% of manufacturing industry. The survival disparity between eating and drinking / accommodation companies and manufacturers showed a widening spread over time. In the eating and drinking and accommodation industry, the number of employees was 4 or less, which accounted for the majority at 91.7%. Next, 5.6% for 5 - 9 people, 1.4% for 10 - 19 people, 0.8% for 20 - 49 people, and 0.5% for over 50 people.

Sightseeing accommodation consists of hotels, motels, and other inn, accommodation including alternative accommodation such as city nightlife and pension. Ryokan industry accounts for 50% and other tourist accommodation facilities account for 47%, which is an absolute majority.

By region, Seoul is 12.7%, Gyeonggi-do (Gyeonggi-do) is 14.8%, and 27.5% of the total is concentrated in the metropolitan area. Among Korean domestic travel expenditures, the percentage of accommodation expenses from 13.8% in 2011 to 17.3% in 2015, the proportion of tourism accommodation accounted for by all tourism business sales in the same period is 30.4% From 35% to 35.2%. Lee Seung-hak researcher at the National Institute of Industrial Science and Technology said, "South Korean tourist accommodation is small in size and distribution difference is large in each region, advised that small scale accommodations in the area should develop co-brands to develop diverse content" did.

they don't regard 19th century technology as their culture and thus have no problem throwing it out the window when new 21st century technology emerges

the big difference is that they are pragmatic while Europeans are largely idealists (i.e. stupid)

The east is good place for tourism, permanent residence is not recommended.

ESL Teacher, or degree holder?

How'd you manage/what are the requirements? I'm finishing an English degree soon, and planned to enter a Master's program, but I'd enjoy leaving this country 2bh. Anywhere I don't want to rip my fucking eyes out, while enjoying my language. Teaching it would work, too

i thought it was a huge meme that rapefugees and blacks are rushing into USA/Europe and whites are running away to East Asia.

>unironically moving to Korea
Why? I can’t think of a single interesting thing about that plastic culturelless shithole that isn’t outdone by China or Japan. An entire country built around pop culture.
>inb4 “>flag”
Deflection is NOT an argument.

sexpats should be evicted

>flag

Aren’t they rapidly dying out because of overwork, suicidal tendencies, and depression?

Upvoted!

I'm down for anything outside here. My town has six autoparts stores, and our cities are plastic tourist traps. I want to leave. Maybe not Korea, but somewhere less depressing. Everyone here talks about either killing themselves or hating their jobs, and nothing else

but on a serious note, why the fuck would you want to live in china? you can't access half of the internet there and even with proper vpn there's always oversecurity against civilians/expats that a slight mistake against the government will result in punishment/exile

>inb4 singapore does the same
at least we have proper internet and don't blatantly kick people out of the country

japan is pretty alright too, it's just personal preference if you're choosing from korea or japan desu

Isn't Asia kinda closed-off to foreigners? I know Asia is vast but if a white man moves to Korea, China, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, etc. will he ever be considered welcome by the Natives even if he learns the language perfectly? It seems like they would be doubtful of you and see you as a stranger constantly.

context? does not need it, a single picture you put on your post tells us everything

never heard an american(/canadian/australian) sexpat call us monkey except for insane korean diaspora and pure Koreans

An online Korean friend I have told me 2 of her friends killed themselves because of how much of a shit place Korea is to live.
Awful education system, a despicable competitive society that treats everyone like disposable automatons, etc.
