No, its not really known outside the country but we love koreans. After the korean war, a man who goes by Mr.Lee traveled to Norway with his family to get surgery, after he did he decided to stay here, and became the first korean to move to Norway. He became a chef and introduced Norway to a lot imported korean recipes like noodles and people loved it, he became an iconic character and was kind of his own mascot for the company. He died recently at 80 years old, rip Mr.Lee

Depends on where you go. Unless you tell people, you will get mistaken for Chinese. If you are rich or well-dressed you will be mistaken for a Chinese parachute kid (e.g. commie official's kid sent here to launder money/houses).

Its not as bad in places without a huge Chinese enclave but the recent wave of Chinese really didn't do favors for other asians since they go completely materialistic and trying to show off, or go completely unkept and slovenly while completely neglecting physical appearances (e.g. none really lift weights or try to appear masculine).

t. southeast asian. people have assumed i'm everything from "half-white" to "looking like chinese royalty" to whatever else because I have a broad nose and a square-shaped head and larger eyes. its racist as fuck even though its a compliment. i also get spoken to in chinese from time to time and the other half of the time they try to guess my ethnicity.

thank god i moved away from my university. you can prevent this by going to the gym and getting a tan in the sun from time to time, then you can join the "Cool, Acceptable Asians" club.
