Ok what supplies do I need to actually bring the traps up? I have a pretty beat up speed boat I bought from my uncle for like $500. It needs a lot of work to be ocean ready.

You shouldn't be worried about legal trouble. You should be worried about being murdered by lobstermen. They will legit fucking murder you and sink your boat. You do not fuck around with lobstermen. I used to be a long liner. I've been shot at for cutting their lines with our wire.

I like this idea actually. Get a team of niggers to go out pirating with you. Strap up with machine guns and a rocket launcher. Then just steal lobsters or king crab and kill/sink every motherfucker who comes near you.
