even today Florida's wilderness is untamed by all except the old settlers, known as Florida Crackers. Tourists and transplants are always nearly killing themselves due to our deadly snakes, deadly insects and spiders, gators, bears, not regulating internal temperature due to >100 weather with >90% humidity, turbulent water conditions on the beach, frequent storms with flash flooding, etc.
Also yeah we fucked the civilized tribes over pretty hard, then made a bunch of monuments to Jackson and named a city after him. Pretty great
And back in the day, it was even worse.

Literally just parboiled rice, a can or two of stewed tomatoes, some vegetables of your choice (I enjoy okra, corn, broccoli, carrots, and a few other greens), and gator sausage bought from wherever nearby you can get it all mixed together
also our coyotes for some reason are real vicious, like scaring people from wolf country
but all you really need to do is light a fire and shoot at em and they scare real easy, being coyotes
