I told her that if we're going to become more prosperous, we should invest on new assets than just tiny food retail businesses. But you know what? She told me that those things are just gambling and I should stay away from those. I told her that I already multiplied most of my investments since 2015 and even showed her my total net worth on each portfolio. After that, her attitude towards me got colder and her tone is now somewhat mad whenever she talks to me. Whenever I talk to her about investing in those again, she would just reply, "No thanks, enjoy your stupid game." All I ever wanted is to make my mom proud of me. I know this isn't Jow Forums related but what can I do?

M8 I've been telling her since late 2012 about investing in stocks and real estate (only discovered crypto at 2015) and just invested on stocks and crypto at mid 2015 because banks at my country don't accept/trust underaged mastercard/VISA applicants. I even asked her to apply with me but she said business is better than those things.

There is no difference between investing in RE and investing in stocks. The only difference is risk and reward but people often associate lower risk with legitimacy, which I think is just bullshit that they conjure up to hide how much of a visionless pussy they are
I would also argue that small business contribute fuck all to the economy apart from more overpriced junk food and clothes that we dont need. Have a walk around the streets in the city - why are there so many clothing and dining precincts? All those overpriced clothes, sandwiches and coffees contribute nothing to the growth of technology or culture. The fact that there are so many of them still in business makes me worry that society as a whole spend too much on useless shit. Think about how far we wouldve came if everybody in the world consistently invests in the energy/space travel/health/ technology sector.
