>be me
>high school graduate, trying to decide if college is worth it
>get really stressed, ask biz back in 2015
>biz tells me that college is worthless, somehow get convinced ( i was stressed af and late)
>start working at 20 after a year of job interviews
>2 years of hard manual work, save 15k, spend nothing, spend only for vidya
>start crypto in august, somehow made 3,3k from a 1k investment
>now all my pears finished their bachelor
>all of them are already making x1,5 of what i'm making with my job and crypto
>mfw
Be me
Yeah but they have crazy debt they don't talk about they can never get rid of.
true.
>start crypto in august, somehow made 3,3k from a 1k investment
The fucking currency which fuels this market went up like 10x since then and that's it? That's all you fucking made? That's IT?
College is great IF you pick the right major and you can go cheap/for free. I’m graduating with a worthless degree in a semester, but thankfully I’m only paying ~$35k for it. Honestly, I wish I had just taken a year to teach myself to program or something and saved 3 years + a ton of money
this. its superficial success. student loans are a black pit where money goes to die. its not even revolving credit...it just consumes a chunk of your cashflow every month until you die.
don't sweat it. just be smart with your crypto and keep tithing into it. bank crypto shit comes online in 2020 so you're still ahead of the curve. the number of people into crypto is inconsequential relative the number of people in the world so just keep piling onto your stacks and be ready to hold on tight in a few years. you'll make what they make in 20 years within the next 24 months.
i'm from italy, college taxes are at most 2k/year here but expenses are another thing
i had to get an apartment in order to start the semester
i would have spent 7k/year for my college education in total
a lot of bad decisions, my ath was 6,3k though, 3,3k is what i panic sold in january lol
>college debt
implying they didnt get bankrolled by mommy and daddy
HAHAHAHAHAHA
I bet you the job your friends got..they didn't even need a degree for. They just wasted 4 years not working and not getting experience. Everyone has a worthless college degree, how do they stand apart?
Yea college isn't a meme if you get a useful degree. Shouldn't have listened to biz.
If you get a degree in STEM, law, finance etc. I can assure you that it makes you stand apart.
Your mistake was not having a plan to make your money work for you. 2015 was early enough for you to take the risk of going all into BTC or LTC. You took the risk of not going to college, why the fuck wouldn't you take the risk of not entering the market. You had nothing to loose but time. You still have nothing to loose but time. Go all into LTC wait 8 months you are going to make more than your friends 2ish years from now when you average your returns per-month to your time in the market. 36 months to turn 15k to 1mil plus is easy as fuck if you are swing trading. You only make trades that give you 10-30% profits, and you keep reinvesting that total capital you started with. 1k to 1 million is possible with less than 72 10% trades. 15k to 1 mil is possible with much less trades. CREATE A PLAN, STICK TO IT, IGNORE SHITCOINS, THEY ARE HERE TO SUCK UP FRESH CAPITAL FROM THE MARKET.
Stem, law, finance are just meme degrees now. You either have a professional degree that pretty much guarantees employment or you have a useless Biology degree you spent 50k on that makes you a begging leper in the job market. Even professional degrees like law are a sunk cost in the 6 figures these days, you absolutely need to do research before investing your time and shackling yourself with debt. I have a lawyer friend that has close to 200k debt in America, doesn't even practice law because there are no jobs.
If you don't know what you are doing, better off to not put yourseld into debt you can never get consumer protection for.
Either professional degree that almost guarantees quality money or some type of computer science degree with extremely high demand or GTFO basically, it's quite a narrow bandwidth of opportunity in higher education.
Holy fuck are you me?
I'm not American so I don't know about the situation there, but in my country you're pretty much guaranteed a good job if you study law and get good grades. I know for sure that (most) STEM degrees still pay very well in the US. Just google average salary by degree.
The average salary for a master in law is $100k in my country. If you're smart/work hard you can easily make a lot more than that.
YOU ARE FROM ITALY AND LISTENED TO AMERICANS ADVISING YOU ABOUT """COLLEGE"""
IF YOU ARE THAT FUCKING DENSE MAYBE THEY WERE RIGHT TO PUT YOU OFF OF IT
if you can't find a job it's your own fault. no professional degree will guarantee anything besides debt
thank you guys, for now i'm just trying to cope with my depression. Another thing that upsets me is that they even got the time to enjoy their college years with parties and shit.
i was already doing 9-5 when they were fucking around every night and now i'm realizing how important is to make at least some friends in these years.
I guess for now i'm not too late to get at least some meme certificate in CS, like C++ programming, web design and shit like that
You're 22? It's by no means too late to get a degree (if you want to). I started at 22 myself.
Im 22 too and in canada. I intend to get a degree soon after years of lowtier wageying
I'm a eurofag too fwiw.
yeah i'm a eurofag too, (italy kek)
i'm still considering college too but i woud finish the bachelor at 26 fucking years
there are some courses of like 6 to 12 months of specific topics of CS, i think that suits me best
try web design user. Its really easy to learn and it's alot of fun too
>college
Nigger, they are going to tell you that the Constitution is shit, George Washington was a bigot, fat people are beautiful, white people are evil, the (((holooooocaauuuuuusttt))) was real, brown “people” are awesome and the future of the country, womyn are stronk, men are bad, holocaust, Indians, slavery, more diversity, fewer whites, more immigration, Holocaust, adopt third world shitlets instead of having white children, holocaust, slavery, every ethnicity can practice exclusivity except white people, and don’t forget the holocaust.
And then leave you on the hook for 150k. Fuck (((academia))).
He's not a burger. Also, I doubt most American colleges are that bad.
wow that was intense
They are that bad (in varying degrees) and for Italy, just insert Vittorio Emmanuel II for George Washington and all the rest still applies.
you're more than okay, they're slaving right now and that's gonna be most of their life.
you're setting up to just chillax in the future. keep learning about crypto and one day you might hit the jackpot.
>tfw the first time I went to uni I chose a meme degree and fucked around before dropping out
Been wage slaving for a few years. 24 now and just going back now. Getting an econ and finance degree.
It's easy to see you didn't go to college, and that you got your view of it from internet personalities. Those topics are only discussed if relevant, and even then, it's not that dark.
How the fuck is STEM a meme? I am a comp sci major 3 years out of school and I make 95,000 a year in Texas where the cost of living is a joke.
My brother is a electrical engineer and he has a good job in NY.
Where the fuck are you guys getting this information?
I got bankrolled by my mom and here I'm now I will finish college (Software Engineering) in 3 month and I save my internship salary in crypto so far I invested 3K I will continu until July my investment in crypto is long term I really don't care what will happen right now all I know and believe is blockchain tech is not going anywhere
It's not even close to true in Scandinavian universities (on the most liberal parts of the world) so I highly doubt it's true in the US. One of my friends is studying CS at Berkley atm and according to her it's far from as bad as what you describe. You probably got most of your information from youtube celebrities.
You made the mistake of listening to Jow Forumstards. Had you gotten a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering like anyone with a brain would’ve told you to do, you would’ve graduated in 4-5 years and had a degree that gave you limitless job opportunities. Instead Jow Forumstards told you to do some jackshit retardation and you’re paying the price now.
Such short term thought. Stop pretending anyone with sense still takes loans for six figures. If they do they are certifiable tards. It is a worthy debt, LIFETIME earnings are consistently higher than if you relied solely on a HS diploma. What we often see is that HS grads who go straight to the workforce have higher net worths for about 5 years, are quickly surpassed is comparison to those with degrees, who stay higher for the rest of their lives.
Not going to college is like a fucking handicap these days. I don’t get it. It’s one of those things everyone thinks they’ve got it figured it out 18, get older, then realize they should’ve gone.
>STEM is a meme degree
you're a fucking idiot desu, I'm making 170k/year with my meme degree then
Biz is full of lazy sacks of shit who are too ugly to step outside. College is god tier and you cant get those years back user. Smash all the fresh pussy you want, get shitfaced, hell its worth it even if you drop out
>he actually believes this
30k-50k debt isn't crazy when your total comp yearly is 200k. This is what any reputable tech company pays. Most of my coworker friends have paid off their debt in full after working less than a year, I'm making minimum payments and opting to invest in stocks since the interest increases are less than the typical yearly gains.
If you're the 1% of Jow Forums that has made it, then good for you, but it's far easier to be autistic and focus in a on-rails program.
You need to think of ways to break free from wageslavery. To go to college is to lock your own shackles, to become bound to a job and the heavy debt that comes with it.
Start researching coding, business practices, website development, read finance books, get started in investing, save all you can, don't move out of your parents house if you haven't already, live cheaply and save.
It's going to be a rough time at first, but remember you saved yourself from crippling debt. Even if things don't work out, you can always go back to school later.
>tfw I thought I was smart enough to follow the harder path of making it without going to college
>tfw I thought wage cucking would be easy and the time would pass and I'd go to college/university later in life
>tfw see the futility of whichever path I took I would still be an unhappy wagecuck
Honestly not sure if I made the right decision by delaying college, I'm unsure of what I would even take so I'd probably be wasting my money, I did take a trades course but I'm having trouble finding an apprenticeship. Only positive thing I can say is I'm a lot more involved in my community now and know more people because not going to college forced me to get out and talk to people for work, whereas if I was in college I'd definitely be a shut in nerd.
My total debt is less than a quarter of a year's salary. Nice cope.
Buy Chainlink. Once you are a billionaire fuck their wives in your lambo.
>be "smart" and not do college
>tried to convince my "dumb" brother not to go to college, failed, he went into petroleum engineering
>I'm making $40k with plenty of OT
>he got a job ready for him BEFORE he graduated, offer to pay off his student loans if signs a contract to work 6 years for them
>$95 starting
Everyone in this thread is right, college is not a meme, only if you really study something useful.
