Dog of Sweden, Siri, owned by Swedish royals Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia went missing. It was on the run for approximately 24 hours.
But luckily it was found.
Police found the dog and immediately recognized it as a royal dog and brought it to the prince and princess.

I'm sure the dog still had a lot of fun, sounds like it could be plot to a kids book--the prince pooch is tired of life in the castle and wants to experience life like a real street dog so he escapes, mooches maybe some hot dogs from a cart, meets neighborhood kids and plays fetch, dodges a car etc. Then he gets so tired he let hiimself get caught and falls asleep after a long long day.
