Germany's social program is really good actually. We are having homeless people in Germany, but most of them don't want to be helped or are illegal fuckers.
Regular workers don't get excluded. There are two stages in Germany for people who are jobless.
Stage 1- Jobless for 1-12 months You receive 60% of your average income for the last 12 months.
Stage 2 - Jobless for >12 months You receive roughly 400 € per month to live and get necessary stuff paid like a flat. But you can't choose where you are living. This is bound do regulations.
If you stage 1 incoming would be lower than stage 2, you get stage 2 jobless income immediately.
Of course there are ways to lose your claim for this money, but for a normal working person who worked for 2 years in Germany you should be fine.
