WWII was because of a particular incident. had they not launched a preemptive surprise attack, the USA might not have actively joined in the war. Vietnam did not launch an attack on American soil.

Invading Ukraine and intervening in Syria is hardly new, homie. It's just a continuation of the proxy conflict between the U.S. and Russia that was occurring during and to a lesser extent after the Cold War, only this time with fewer states under their influence.
