STOP IGNORING NORWAY

We're important. Talk about us. I'm a Norwegian, AMA. (pic related, it's a Norwegian bazaar rat)

Norway? More like ignoreway!

what country is bro tier?

we don't talk about norway because your country is too perfect

we can't make fun of it

Norway? More like No way!

I would appreciate some actual questions, not banter.

Tell me a fun fact about Norway

No, I own a summerhouse in Bergen and there is already enough tourists around.
Let the country get shrouded in mystery instead. Let's go back to the old ways.

How famous is Magnus Carlsen there?

Norway? More like Go away!

Hm, Norway has 36% income tax which is 1 of the highest in the world.
Magnus Carlsen is HUGE in Norway. We hardly ever win anything internationally so he's a big deal.

None of these have been funny so far.

Norway? More like fucking gay! Ha!

What do you guys think of foreigners? Would your women date a 5'7" olive skinned twink?

I work at an elementary school which is very ethnically diverse so I pretty much don't even notice color anymore. The refugee crisis hit Norway pretty hard tho so we're constantly dealing with people hurt and traumatized by war. (Syria)

is Norway really the paradise that the media talks about?

Shut up Finland. You drink too much.

Honest question here.
As a Swede from Östergötland, what area would be the best for me to move to?

I love history, I love nature. Not a big fan of modern cities though.
Will my savings (runt en och en halv miljon kr) last me long enough to find a job within the history section (museums etc) or should I wait until I have a job before I move?

Norway is rich and not very religious if that's what you mean? We need wars to keep the oil prices up tho, so we fix our hopes on Trump.

What education do you have?

Masters in European history, field degree in archaeology.

Sounds good. Go for it, bro!

Kinda. But the food is bland and the weather and dark season might disagree with some people. But i love the winters so for me its great.

Norway? More like won’t say! (anything about your country)

SHUT UP AMERICA. SHUT YOUR GODDAMN MOUTH

Who is your favourite Norwegian black/death metal band?

Is it true you eat seaweed? How do you guys cook it?

Mine is Mayhem and Myrkskog

I have seen it on a few menus in Oslo. Always thought it was something imported from the japs.

No, we eat pussy though.

Nooooorwaaay
Im ignoring you, I know a lot abour Copenhagen and their cookies

You ignore us at your peril, Vietnam. We have oil.

Easily one of my favorite albums, Myrkgrav never fails. Burzum for the nostalgia as well. Grew up with that band.

Norwegian marriage proposal.

Oh shit. I know the guy behind Myrkgrav. Great album.

You know that's not true though, at the peak of the crisis when Sweden took in 100 000 refugees in one year we barely scratched 10 000. Of course those that came usually get centered somewhere so I'm guessing you're either teaching in Drammen, Asker or eastern Oslo.

Buy him a beer for me huh? He deserves it.
I live in the same where Marduk was formed, Norrköping. My father knows the guys so I've met them a bunch of times.
Actually got to hear Frontschwein before they released the album. Was so damn happy.

i see you got a lot of money saved... why dont you give some of that to spain ? im sure we will be able to return it, in 50 years or so :)

Haven't talked to him in 8 years or so..

It depends on the refugees you take in. Some are fine but others are brutalized by war and become a burden to the society that receives them.

otters are so cute>.

Ah well, shit happens. Great music anyways.

No, you sided with Germany in ww2 and we still hold a grudge.

what is the best part of Norway for travel? Thinking of going in about 2 years

Norway

West coast. And i say this as someone from Oslo.

>No, you sided with Germany in ww2 and we still hold a grudge.
wrong, we didn't side with anyone in WW2, a small group of volunteers doesnt count as joining a war

Do they have good camping parts around there too? Ive heard you can just set up a tent and camp most places in Norway

Norway is basically a nature lover's country. We got tons of stunning scenery. Depends on what you like. Warning: Norway is redic expensive.

The only relevant nordics are Sweden and Denmark lol you just invented a cheese slicer

>look up Franco
>fascist

checks out

1349 and Ulver probably.
Fun fact: The drummer of 1349, Frost, works out with our athletic elite like the national skier team at Olympia Gym. He also broke his shin bone on tour once but still didn't cancel a single show, he's a hard fucker.

Yes they do. i went on a week long campingtrip there this summer. There's camping sites all over and you can camp anywhere you like outside of them also.

oil

To be honest, Norway is a hell of a lot more relevant than Denmark..

If you want most unique landscape then probably Lofoten in northern Norway, but it's pretty desolate so if you want to experience more culture then probably like said.

spain had civil war for the 3 years before WW2
if spain had a real military alliance with hitler, the german troops would have marched through spain and blocked the gibraltar strait changing the course of the war

Norway? More like Snoreway!

Oh yeah?! If that's the case, tell me how would you put together a bunch of papers without a paperclip?
We own you boy

every supermarket here a norwegian salmon, you're not irrelevant!

Do they taste the same as a Kit-Kat?

You know what, Canada? Just no, OK?

Canadon't
Canadoodoo

No! it tastes much better.

then why aren't we learning Norwegian in school?

Thanks, Italy. You're ok.

>politicians from a similar ideology shake hands
SHOCKER
>let me tell you about your country
Spain didn't participate in WW2, this is silly

Because you're as relevant as they are. Norway at the very least got the oil, is a hotspot for cold war 2.0 and thus important for NATO, one of the most stable countries in the world with very little extremism. We are in the very forefront of the renewable energy field and once the oil dries up others are gonna want we have.
Meanwhile Denmark has basically not done anything of notice in a long, long while.

?? We aren't learning Danish either..

Norway

sug kukk forbanna homse

Find a job first before you move here.

>fascist salute is exclusive to hitler

We like it rustic.

>We are in the very forefront of the renewable energy field
Don't you guys just have oil?

Attached: NesjavellirPowerPlant_edit2.jpg (2400x1600, 993K)

Why do you call us Hellas? You are the only country besides us that does so

>eating norwegian salmon
youtube.com/watch?v=RYYf8cLUV5E

the only salmon you should eat is the one you catch on your own

Good question, Hellas. Norway has weird names for several countries like Tyskland ( GER) and Frankrike. (FR)

We're not an artificial state kept up by oil like some arab countries, what doesn't go into securing the welfare states stability goes into diversifying our economy and making the transition as smooth as possible once oil can no longer be depended on. We already have a working model of the very first electric passenger plane for example, which is actually groundbreaking in terms of reducing emissions while not becoming super expensive, but will obviously be a while before it's integrated into daily use.

Even their top is blonde

You used to be called Grekenland until the 1930s, but nynorsk autists started sperging because the name was imported from Germany, so since then it is Hellas.

Yeah! You tell 'em!

hey guys, got any magic lipbalms to improve my skiing?

Do I need to learn Norwegian to move there to work for 5 years before coming back?

I think Norway has some kind of tradition for this in general, calling countries and cities by their own name and not german/english. For example, we say Helsinki even though Helsingfors would be more logical, and Beograd even though Belgrade is more common.
Ty bby, got tired of the
>Norway = oil
arguments you always see here so actually read up on it once.

So in a conversation if you mention Greece you'll say it as Hellas or do some of you still say Grekenland? Also how is a Greek person called in Norwegian?

Yeah, learning the language is a big deal, tho most of us speak English well enough.

bokmal or nynorsk?

We all say Hellas and you would be a Greker. (a Greek)

How is the general opinion on bongs?

Everyone says Hellas.
Greker.

so you're just gonna build dams everywhere?

You're seen as a country with a lot of issues with islamic terrorism, not as bad as France tho, which I'm not planning to visit any time soon.

What happens in Nordland?

here we say Kænugarður
