Wrong. We didn't fight the Soviet Union because of ideological reasons, or because it was ruled by russians.. We fought, protested and rebelled because of low standard of life. If you look through all anti-commie rebellions in Poland in 1945-1989 (dozens of them), all of them began because of things like rising price of sausage. We basically don't care about who rules us, it could be jews, russians, germans, americans, Poles, whatever. We care only about standard of life. If the standard of life is below our expectations, then we begin to organize ourselves and fight. If the standard of life is OK, then we are satsified with our "little stabilisation", drink beer, watch football games, fuck our women and work honestly everyday, and pay taxes. Your empire was simply too lame to supply these basic things to us, so it got fucked here. You were not the last one and not the first one. As you can see, Poland can have good relations with "communist" China that idolizes Marx, only because they are rich enough to make their and our lives better thanks to investments and trade. Russia was always a core Heartland, everlasting poor, based on centralized power, keeping its country in one piece with using violence and terror. 5 units of American F-22 Raptor were taking part during a Polish military parade month ago in Warsaw. Poles were clapping because they were flying over their heads. Russians had an airforce base in communist Poland decades ago in Kołobrzeg. Someday a Russian pilot took off of the base and wanted to show off in front of the Polish crowd gathered on Kołobrzeg beach by flying few meters over the surface of the sea. He failed and crushed himself to death. The crowd of Poles (few thousand people) were clapping like crazy because of the deadly crash only because they knew that the pilot was dead.
So, Poles generally don't give a fuck about foreign occupation as long as it is not hurtful for them, or it is at least tolerant. We are completely demoralized by 2 centuries of partitions. Americans are associated here mainly with McDonalds, Coca-Cola and Hollywood - with pleasant things. Meanwhile Russians were and still are associated with unpleasant things like violence and poverty. So you can be even an SSman, but if you give a candy to a Polish kid instead of robbing/killing him, we don't mind that you control our country. Occupation is never done to make lives of the occupied people better, but if you want to make it stable and long-term, you should at least care about basic needs of the occupied people, if you don't want to turn the place into warzone, destroy everything and deprive yourself of income.
