I saw a documentary on Sweden and the far right because of the elections in Sweden.
The french journalist interviewed swedish people in the streets and I noticed that most of far right people talked in english of swedish and most every swedish leftists who was disgusted by the far right and racism, talked in french

Never thought about this before, but probably. The French language has been an EU meme for quite a while at this point, and they're started shilling it since the UK is leaving the EU, like that would make a difference to its status. Even though English would still be the de facto world language even if the British Isles disappeared from the face of the Earth without a trace after WWI or so.

Yes, like in most civilized countries French is seen as a sissy language for femboys and easily wowed roasties, which is usually the case with lefties. The right are more prone to picking German in grade school. It's still kinda common for a guy who studies French in Sweden to get comments like "Really? But it sounds so silly" or "Baguette, baguette, hon hon hon".
There are exceptions of course, [spoiler]like myself who is a right-wing conservative yet happily studied French for many years in my youth, my interest has kind of died off since French stopped being a staple for early European enlightenment in my eyes and is now just another nigger language[/spoiler].

Just look at any referendum in Switzerland. The francophone Romandie always is way less conservative than the German-speaking part.

I did a lot of French because French was mandatory from like Year 4 and we only had the choice between 2 years of either more French or taking German in the latter part of middle school. In short, fuck you France
