It's pretty obvious there's an end to Bitmex, as they're clearly not investing any more money into the platform. It was inevitable the shit would start breaking, and they'll band aid it, and let it stumble along for a while longer. Personally, I think it peaked a couple weeks ago, margin is falling of, they've farmed most of the NEET coins they could, and it's all just the same degenerate gamblers trading coins back and forth now.
I give it 6 more months.

PS - the reality is, the "whales" are the exchanges themselves, wash trading to generate liquidations. They're not even hiding it anymore. Anyone with a large holding of bitcoin is either selling it off, or tethered it.

The whole thing is down - I suspect they have cheap as fuck hosting, with no backup - which is INSANE considering they're a live service.
My hunch for a long time has been that they don't put any money back into the platform, the owners nickel and dime everything, and a crash was inevitable.
I can't wait to see the "we lost the records, so all trades are final, so sorry, you should remember this is always a risky investment, and we had fine print you didn't read when you signed up that says we don't have to reimburse you."
