How do I phrase an email to my boss saying that I'm going to quit unless I get a pay rise without coming across as a cuck and/or cunt?
How do I phrase an email to my boss saying that I'm going to quit unless I get a pay rise without coming across as a...
Begin by saying how much you enjoy the job move onto how your financial situation is under a lot of pressure and end with you are seeking work elsewhere
>do it in person
>ask to discuss your employment at a convenient time for him
>find another job offer before hand
>meet with him and say you enjoy working here but you believe you deserve a raise because of (insert value here)
>tell him about other offer
Don’t do it over email. Go for a drink, tell them you’ve had other offers and you really don’t want to go because you like the projects/culture/people so much, but your current pay isn’t competitive.
If your employer doesn’t think you are worth the extra cash because they’ll be making a loss on your time, or because you’re weird and ask for raises over email, you won’t get a raise.
Do you ever get tired of cooking up these asinine threads?
assuming you are actually good at your job and not merely entitled simply explain you feel undervalued and not appreciated and although you enjoy working there it cant continue under the present compensation
MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODS
If you want a raise then you're going to have to put in a little extra work. I'd buy some knee pads (they will get worn pretty quick from daily use)
Don't threaten him with leaving. Do it in person and in two steps. First ask for a raise and explain why you think you deserve it.
If he declines come again later and say you quit. If he really wants you that gives him a second chance to give you a raise.
You should really be ready to quit, though. Don't bluff.
Grow up.
This seems like a sensible option.
I do like the job a lot, but the pay is dog shit. I don't have any choice other than to leave if they are genuinely expecting me to work another year+ on dogshit money.
holy fuck more?
You need to explain why you think you deserve a pay rise. I.E write an email explaining everything you do and how your responsibility justifies this. Maybe give some examples.
She's 18, her name is Diovana Konigsreuter
>email to my boss
>without coming across as a cuck and/or cunt
It's been said. Discuss this in person
>e-mail
not possible, cuck/cunt
>you deserve a raise because of (insert value here)
>explain why you think you deserve it
>explain why you think you deserve a pay rise
>please mr shekelstein I DESERVE this raise I have been such a good little wagie
seriously how do you manage to do this without feeling like a slave?
You are a slave, but modern slaves have to negotiate as well.
you need to have options (i.e. a job offer)
>negotiate
I don't know if it is negotiating, I am going to just leave if I don't get better money. He seemed pretty pissed off yesterday when I brought it up and wouldn't put a figure on how much I want. I'm not expecting the Earth but I'm being paid dogshit relative to my role.
Is the fact that he's asking what I'm expecting proof enough that he doesn't want me to leave?
Sorry, OP here, dumb dynamic IP.
find another job and then go to your boss and say that you received another offer and wanted to know if he could match it. if he doesn't negotiate with you then leave.
What do you do?
Dude just look up an national and statewide average and be like "I want this much, I know this is the average and I go above and beyond my roll so it believe that it is a win win for both of us."
you stop being a fucking faggot and talk to him. You deserve to have your ass raked over the coals for firing off an email for something that important.
Think of it from their perspective. Would you rather receive a threat from an employee that they will quit if they don't get a raise or have them come to you in person and explain the reasons why you are valuable? If they ignore it in person or push you off, by all means find another job. But from personal experience, EVERY SINGLE TIME I've asked for a raise IN PERSON it was granted.... Sometimes not immediately, but soon enough.
Not an option, I'm about to be put on a training course to get a qualification, I need to organise this before that happens. Once I start that shit I'm tied to the job as I'll foot the bill if I leave less than six months after. As it stands I have nothing tying me there. I'd have done all this sooner but I didn't expect the role to continue to pay dogshit, I thought it was just a "here's some dogshit money while we see if you're worth having" type deal.
Can't say as I know people who browse here. It's not glamorous but people in good positions in the industry are paid very well. I'm lucky to be in on it with me having a meme degree but fuck getting paid dogshit for an extended duration.
>be you
>inb4 op is fagt
>figure out when boss is present but not too busy
"Can I get a word with you in private, Chief? I got something to share with you, but I don't want the other monkeys to overhear."
>in private 1:1 w/boss now
We're both busy, so here it is: raise my pay to $X, or consider this my two-week notice -- no negotiations, no sleeping on it -- decide *now*: am I worth what I demand (not ask), or do I just call in sick for the next ten workdays while starting my new job (which has already cleared me for hire)? We'll? You've got thirty seconds, cuz my boss likes to keep us busy."
>tell him to his face that he is an asshole when he says "no," then walk out
>he'll call you back in next week to "talk about this raise;" you will reply:
"No, we already talked about it; I'm only coming back in if you accept my offer, here and now, to retain a skilled & talented agent in exchange for a livable wage -- I mean, I'd work for free if Bernie had won the election; that's why I voted for Trump: because I'm realistic. Are you realistic? Am I getting my raise or am I working fora better company that doesn't jew its workers, Mr. Goldstein, you penny-pinching kike?! Fuck you and your whole god-damned race, you hook-nosed christ-killers! Even though it never really happened, I find myself wishing that the Holocaust was both real & 100% successful, cuz we wouldn't have these problems if the Final Solution worked! So: raise or quit; your call, Hoss."
>gas the Jews
>???
>profit!
>not teleporting behind him
keked
He's a businessman, you brainlet. You have to make him understand why you're worth what you're asking.
>wouldn't put a figure on how much I want
Which made you look incompetent and entitled. You should know how much you're worth.
solid advice
You're not a slave, you're exchanging your labor for money. Just say that the price you're exchanging your labor for has changed. You're no longer accepting a lower price for it. That's all there is to it.
You show you fucking worth and they will end up sucking your dick
>AY CRACKA I AINT NO KEK GIMME MO MONEY FO I GET UP OUT THIS BITCH
>asinine
nigger
holy shit
Jow Forums is truly the autistic epicenter of the internet
Explain very positively what you like about the job and mention what other related fields typically make. EXAMPLE: your job pays 50k most jobs on the similar field pay 70k you were wondering if you could get a raise to be a bit more compensated as you feel you go above and beyond. Show positivity for the company and why you do like it. You don’t need to threaten, it comes off as your belittling the person. Of course they know what you mean. And your not in a job to negotiate. He might bump you by 5k or 10k. Don’t expect to get 70k for this example.
You need to phrase it from an abundance mentality perspective so he knows you have other options.
>"I really enjoy this job, but last night I earned more holding a 100x leverage long while riding a minute candle Bart Simpson formation than I do in an entire month."
Nobody gets raises anymore, kid. You're expected to move on to a higher paying job.
Small businesses are different. They focus on more personal relationships then corporate race ladders.
Careful about bluffing, it weakens your position. Come to terms with the fact that you may really leave if they say no or don’t negotiate something from the lifestyle standpoint if they won’t give a raise. Threatening and bluffing doesn’t work that well, I did it and while it was ok it hasn’t worked out well. I’m just looking for other jobs as soon as one comes up I like I’ll bounce
if you're lined up for a training course, it could be possible that you will get a raise after you finish it
Going back on your word after you said you'd quit is just going to backfire in the long term, don't do this.
You must have an ugly 35yo landwhale wife
>Begin by saying how much you enjoy the job move onto how your financial situation is under a lot of pressure and end with you are seeking work elsewhere
This is a cuck move.
Good awnser. If you want a pay rise prove your worth. I would not go as far as to tell him about the other job offer, since that can appear as a threat, but it cant hurt to be somewhat goals oriented.
I'd phrase it in a way that "I know what im worth in the current job market, but l like working here which is why I am asking for a raise" or something to that effect
>If he declines come again later and say you quit.
Personally I think these kinds of power plays are kind of childish. You don't have to waive it in your boss's face that you are quitting. I 100% agree that you should be ready to quit though. Never bluff and always have the next job locked down first. Also if you get a counter offer have a decent amount you would be satisfied with because if you accept you need to be happy with that.
Best advice in thread. I wonder if you read "how to make friends and influence people"
What a nice pure and virgin girl. Why can't I find such a pure and virgin girl near me?
You're a nigger.
because you gotta show off your money
A girl like that is virginal? Dude. You jerk off too much, porn has rotted your brain. The bitch posts cameltoe shots on Instagram, and it's guaranteed some dude is gorilla fucking her nightly. She's brazilian, dude. Virgins don't last long down there, even the ugly ones.
Besides, a girl like that? Will never want to fuck you, unless you pay for it. Get used to fatties, that's all you're getting. Maybe.
get a new job/offer first
>Boss, another company wants to pay me $XXX, do you match or what
That's a good way to get downsized out of a job.
What's wrong with just asking for a raise? Stop with the bullshit. Just ask. If they say no, then it's on you to decide what to do. If you risk your job asking for one, it's a shit job anyway and should be easy to replace.
And, like I said, nobody gets raises these days, other than symbolic cost of living raises. It's on you to find a better paying job, because there's 200 other people who will do your job cheaper.
Why bullshit? Get the better offer, and then go for the raise. Did that several times, worked every time.
>nobody gets raises these days
>200 other people who will do your job cheaper
not sure if I can agree, I suppose it depends on what and where you do
this
I was being ironic, retard. I lived in Brazil for a couple of years, I know what Brazilians girls are like.
>Besides, a girl like that? Will never want to fuck you, unless you pay for it. Get used to fatties, that's all you're getting. Maybe.
Nice projection. Not everyone who posts on Jow Forums is a 4/10 ugly neckbeard.
Talk face to face, giving an ultimatum via email is a bitch move and you won't get respect or money out of it.
>seriously how do you manage to do this without feeling like a slave?
by having options.
first, you secure another job offer that pays more than your current job.
then you tell your boss about it, and say that you can't decline that offer unless your current position's pay increases substantially.
then you wait and see what his decision is. if you're let go, move to the better job. if you get the raise, enjoy it.
If you're not bluffing, you hand him a resignation letter explaining that you can't keep working there at such a low rate. If he actually wants you to stay, then he'll want to talk and negotiate. Otherwise, you follow through and resign. Expect him to not give a f**k about you and actually will just let you leave.
