So I went to an interview for a dishwashing job today.

He asked me how much I wanted and I said "8 or 10 dollars"

He said "Woah dude that's all? I'll pay you a lot more than that!"

How old are you?

27

nice, just bought 100k! in what state? dish washing when i used to do it about 9 years ago paid shit, roughly 9:60 bucks in canada, but i heard some places paid 16-20ish during the same time. just dont stick ur hands into the cutlery basket with bare hands when your hands are soaked for hours, i ended up with zombie hands on the first day

i was a dishwasher 4 years ago. i was floundering in university and played video games too much, even failed a couple of courses, no motivation. i transferred unis and started busting my butt.

now i have a full time job and make 70k a year fucking around on a computer all day. feelsgood

stay out of restaurants, best to never get involved

you can't get out

>go apply to be a trashman
>oh, you worked in a restaurant
>you don't have the skill set we're looking for

Holy shit, do you think this guy might pay me 20 an hour for washing dishes??

>20ish an hour
Did you work in a super-fancy place? I made $10/hr as a dishbitch.
wear gloves

>fucking around on a computer all day feelsgood
>70k a year

Where can I buy 100k of this user?

be actuary

Only 75k as an actuary? I thought they get paid much better than that. My girlfriend is studying that in college right now. How many exams do you have done? How old are you, how many years as an actuary?

>8 or 10 dollars

If you just admitted you’d accept 8, why would you expect him to agree to 10? I never understood this tact when negotiating.

just don't put it on your resume then.

hes almost certainly new, probably 3-4 exams tops. if he was a senior actuary, he wouldn't have time to shitpost, but he'd be rolling in dough (100-120k minimum)

what kind of dish washer job pays more then min wage?

i would have done the same thing bud, dont feel so bad

Sounds more like an excuse for them to not hire you.

can't believe people still work for less than $20/hr. the wealth gap is unbelievable in this country. so glad i'm not fucking poor.

This. You also want to let them spit out the number first, most are better than you think you deserve

lol i walked in and applied for a $8 dishwasher job before my monopoly money mooned and they never called me back
now i talk shit about the restaurant even tho i have never ate there

While I think you’re right for jobs like this, that axiom is dumbass boomer shit when applied to big boy jobs.

Ya that's what I was thinking. My gf only passed 1 exam (it took 3 tries) and just started studying for 2nd one, and she's a senior in college graduating this year. No internships. How bad of a spot is she in?

If she's in the U.S. she might be able to turn this around assuming she has good grades and an internship in at least something else kind of related.

If she's outside of the U.S. she's fucked.
