Africa is populated by subsistence farmers doing the same thing their grandparents did, with the same techniques. It's fine, until you want to start supporting nearly 200 million people like Nigeria. At that point you need to industrialize and modernize, which African nations are struggling to do.

Also, lots of valuable African farmland isn't even being used.
