My Dutch ancestor arrived in 1660 with the Dutch West India Company and presumably got stuck here after the British conquered New York, my German ancestor fled the draft of Otto von Bismarck in the late 1800s, and my Irish ancestor was a motorbike thief who was caught by the British and deported here in the 1900s or 1910s from County Mayo.
