I live in NYC and know for a fact from speaking to several homeless beggars that they stay homeless in purpose because the benefits are so good and they can make 150-400 dollars a day from panhandling. The homeless "shelters" here are literally hotels. Each room costs the city 5k per month. Renting them a regular 1 bedroom apartment would be about 1500-2000 per month. Fucking ridiculous
