Why do we need a reason to kill Muslims?

Saddam had weapons of mass destruction

Because Bush was retarded

/thread

Because Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East

it still baffles me to this day

Non meme answer is some intelligence agencies believed there were contacts between Iraq and Al Qaeda and they didn't get rid of all if their WMDs. The CIA actually disagreed. To be honest according to some Iraqis they supposedly did have some chemical weapons still but thise got shipped to Syria when we were saber rattling.

There did not need to be a reason. It was better for saudis and israel if iraq was not powerful I guess, but even that is not necessary. The message was this: The US can and will invade regardless of UN, common sense, or goal. Big guy in prison style. The Iraq war ensured the US another couple decades of "dont fuck with me"

The thing I don't understand is why would Saddam Hussein want anything to do with Al-Aaeda? Not only did he fight Islamists and ran a secular Government of people of all religions, the last thing he would want to do is support terrorist attacks against the West who already fucked him up once.

We couldn't go after the Saudi's without crashing the world economy with no survivors so we took out one of their puppets

>Saddam's Iraq
>The puppet of Saudi Arabia

Wtf, they were literal ennmies. Saddam bombed saudi arabia.

Are you retarded?

If they meant business they would have bombed populated regions instead of rural goat farmers

Dubya continuing his daddy's war. Clinton bombed their military infrastructure in '98. There was a choice to either invade Iraq or Iran at the time but Israel lobbied for Saddam's deposal. Like always, there was a plan going in but jackshit for getting out.

He's right though you retard. Saddam Hussein was a direct rival of Saudi Arabia. They had no control over him whatsoever.

Oil!

Didn't the Saudis help Iraq when Iran started to win? I also think Saudi Arabia views Iraq as a key buffer state separating the two real rivals, which is Saudi Arabia and Iran.

Yes. Prior to the gulf war when Saddam Hussein became a direct enemy of Saudi Arabia and their American overlords

For OIL

>11/9
Wtf? You mean 9/11? We didn't. Iraq war was in 2003.

Why? Well Bush lied and said Saddam Hussein had a nuke. But regardless, he was an asshole with or without nukes and the world is a better place without him.

They further destabilized the middle east. Win
Made a reason to make military contractors billions of dollars. Win
Take public eye away from all the money the government stole from the people that was announced missing a day before 9/11. Win
Further put the pressure on Iran by destroying any sense of sanity (Hussein lol) on their border and putting military bases there. Win!
Steal shit tons of oil. Win.
Pull out all the stops to make all the fat stupid baby boomer has-been's who vote for 90's GOP get to live vicariously through the military psychopathic industrial complex say shit like "YEAH we are gonna KICK their asses cause hurr Merrica" and win.

Lots of reasons. For the establishment at the time it was a very intelligent move. They are crazy though.

>Leading up to his August 1990 Invasion of Kuwait, Iraqi President Saddam Hussein was pushing OPEC to end overproduction and to send oil prices higher, in order to help OPEC members financially and to accelerate rebuilding from the 1980–1988 Iran–Iraq War.

>The September 2001 Al Qaeda attacks on the US and the March 2003 US invasion of Iraq had even milder short-term impacts on oil prices, as Saudi Arabia and other exporters again cooperated to keep the world adequately supplied.

>The thing I don't understand is why would Saddam Hussein want anything to do with Al-Aaeda?
I don't think he did. IIRC the story was that some of his intelligence agency was meeting with Al Qaeda. It has been a while since I last read up on it.

Having said that, if that was the case dropping the proof on his desk may have taken care of the problem as I'm sure he would have cleaned house.

Because if the USA didn't do anything after getting btfo by a bunch of muslims their citizens would.have lust all trust and creibility on the government

Because America wants the arab world to be weak and divided. They will not accept a strong arab country, look at what they also did to libya and Syria. The greatest thing they fear is a united arab world.

Hussein made a decision to export oil based on Euro, which triggered US.

American oligarchy wanted to profit with the war money and keep the oil prices in their control.

Reminder that Iraq really did have WMDs.

> muh oil
> muh israeli puppet
Are just memes by people who were 4-7 when 9/11 happened
The real reason was that the entire nation was on edge and need a tangible victory. Hussein was convenient since he'd been at the brink of defeat before and had chemical weapons that he'd regularly use on his own people.

Your cunt gave the chemical weapons to him.

11th of September was when Jan Sobieski routed the Caliphate hordes when they were attacking Vienna. The attack on the world trade centre was a message to Muslims the caliphate was back. The states knew the symbolism and retaliated in kind
