What is wrong with people in this thread. To anyone who has travelled a bit, you know damn well English doesn't work everywhere on the globe. And being monolingual sucks. I know it, I live with a Brit and he is always excluded from the students activity from our appartments because he can't speak French.

It really sucks when you are with a group of people, don't know their language so you constantly hear them talking without understanding. They could legit be insulting you and you wouldn't know. Trust me I've been there.

Travelling in LatAm is fun, there are many different cultures, landscapes, people, monuments, foods, etc. to see and discover. Plus you can visit Spain which is an awesome travel destination. And English will NOT work in LatAm.
