I know a few of these who love the bookies. I wonder what the appeal is, online betting is superior

Most of them are old men or basic normies who don't bother with the internet and the flashy bookies are perfect

Really wish that proposed legislation banning people from recording Gardaí while they are on duty had gotten some traction. This trend of people getting their phones out every time literally anything happens just pisses me off for some reason. Plus it would annoy the hell out of those "Am I being detained?" types. All they want is for a Garda to make a misstep in a stressful situation so that they can upload the video to social media and go "POLICE BRUTALITY! All cops are pigs!"

>literally throwing your money away

Hey, it's your life and (hopefully) your money.

>Gardaí
Cringe

Not sure what you mean by that.

posting that for the folks at the mount and blade general eh?

But you can make that money and much more back from gambling, that's the whole point. Besides, even if you lose, you had fun, right? In that way it's not much different from buying beer.

>Besides, even if you lose, you had fun, right?
You enjoy losing your money on a bet?

This video reminds me of a program on Sky Arts, (or maybe I just saw it on YouTube) about WW2 propaganda cartoons

This one was very eeire: youtu.be/4BQcZFpM61w

You don't enjoy playing poker or blackjack?

It's a hard thing to propose since then people will claim they were victims of genuine Garda brutality, and knowing this country, the media and public would have a field day taking the testimony of those with no evidence over the law enforcement service.
And in fairness, the Gardaí aren't infallible. It's better that those who do abuse their position be punished for it.

Not really, no.

>It's a hard thing to propose since then people will claim they were victims of genuine Garda brutality, and knowing this country, the media and public would have a field day taking the testimony of those with no evidence over the law enforcement service.
Excellent point. I knew from the moment that the minister proposed it that it wouldn't fly, but it would have been fun to see all the arrests of knackers and lefties regardless.

>And in fairness, the Gardaí aren't infallible
Of course. But it's just been both frustrating and sort of satisfying to watch all the faux-outrage about the Gardaí wearing balaclavas at an eviction to protect their identities from social media vigilantes, and then for those vigilantes to justify that very decision that they were screeching about by engaging in the exact type of witch-hunting that the Gardaí wore the balaclavas to try and avoid.

>Really wish the guards had even less accountability than they already do

How did you manage to figure out the wifi password in the house you're illegally occupying?

What's wrong with Gardaí Stuart Cooper?

They're lazy cunts who fuck off if there's ever a sniff of a traveller being involved in a reported crime because they're not arsed getting involved, same for petty crimed or non-violent thefts as they're usually too lazy to deal with what they deem a 'waste of time'.

Besides that it's just a good thing in general for a law enforcement force to be accountable to the public, and allowing the recording of them on public duty is an easy way to foster it. Banning it does nothing since the criminal scumbag knackers who try to dox and harass them are criminal scumbags that'll keep going, and it'll only make it harder to prove it if they ever overreach in the line of duty.

Honestly they should all have bodycams as well, both to help conviction rates and keep them acting in accordance with the law themselves.

>Garda Síochana
>le protectors of peace in a language no-one speaks because le founders thought it sounded epic
Literally why not just rename them police? And don't scream at me for being le west brit or how a handful of businesses and organisations being named in Irish will save a language with no interest and the bare minimum investment into it as every broadcast and internet service is in English clinging to BS like this won't bring it back.

Wew. I'm sure that was fun. My body my choice people BTFO.

Poland, Hungary and now Italy have shown that it is possible to reap the benefits of remains inside the EU while still keeping your borders secure, and the Brexit farce has shown that exiting the EU does not bring you any closer to having control over your borders.

Starting to get windy up here
Hopefully this "storm" ain't that bad

The Belgian Congo? Or the other one?

That'd cost you an arm and a leg!

Is this storm tomorrow anything to be concerned about?

>Persistent rain and strong winds are being predicted with Met Éireann saying that Storm Ali will track close to the west and northwest coast from the early hours of tomorrow morning until late afternoon.

>The Status Orange warning is on place for 17 counties in each part of the country, they are: all of Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Dublin, Kildare, Longford, Louth, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Clare and Kerry.

>A Status Yellow wind warning is in place for the rest of the country with these conditions being previously predicted due to the movement of ex-Hurricane Helene across the Atlantic.

>Both warnings kick in from 5am tomorrow morning with Met Éireann predicting south to southwest winds with mean speeds between 65-80 km/h and gusts between 110-120 km/hr.

Yes but is it anything to be concerned about?

No but you are :)
