I consider Jazz one of the worst musical inventions mankind as ever made. I feel it basically is the equivalent of a music genre that made things void of culture and started the shitty trend of music without culture for the future

It's great reading, informative as well as beautiful, but the people behind it were total aristocratic assholes who shat on the working man just as they examined his plight, and I can't forgive them. How they'd laugh and gloat over the fact that a pleb like me ever came near one of their works!

he isn't arguing for cultural marxism

he is arguing that jazz becomes the substance of art (non-ideological cultural production) that makes capitalism palpable and even tasteful, including other popular music, jazz was just the king of pop music 30-50s. ofc in the modern era this functionalization of art is not limited to jazz. his polemic against jazz isn't to do whatever the alt-right believes about cultural marxism, it is to seperate what is truly considered cultural art with capitalism, so that the arts is in some place that capitalism cannot steal so to speak

opposite of main-line cultural marxism thinking

For the summer semester Adorno planned a lecture course entitled "An Introduction to Dialectical Thinking," as well as a seminar on the dialectics of subject and object. But at the first lecture Adorno's attempt to open up the lecture and invite questions whenever they arose degenerated into a disruption from which he quickly fled: after a student wrote on the blackboard "If Adorno is left in peace, capitalism will never cease," three women students approached the lectern, bared their breasts and scattered flower petals over his head. After further disruptions to his lectures, Adorno canceled the lectures for the rest of the seminar, continuing only with his philosophy seminar. In the summer of 1969, weary from these activities, Adorno returned once again to Zermatt, Switzerland, at the foot of Matterhorn to restore his strength. On August 6 he died of a heart attack.

no kind of appropriation is acceptable

Shit opinion, fuck off.

>music
>void of culture
No such thing, because music in itself is/is representative of culture. If you believe Jazz is as cl9se as it gets to mindless music then surely you haven't listened to manufactured pop, elevator music, and the less crrative electronic genres. Say what you will about those genres, but they too are part of our artistic patrimony and culture

>quoting Adorno
Sorry mate that's cultural marxism.

yea, whatever

>jazz
>music
That's just noise for retards who absolutely want to feel "intellectual" user. The most famous jazzmen are black, if you need a hint...

this

you must have an ear disorder to not here the greatness of jazz
