The Vimy Ridge War Memorial

Attached: mother_canada_1024x1024.png (1024x686, 921K)

What? Canada fought in a war?

In his defense, the French built the statue part.

that doesn't count

Because there are 10+ monuments here that are more interresting and impressive
In comparison the brandenbuger gate is just kinda boring

Attached: koelner-dom_panorama.jpg (1167x800, 458K)

A little bit

Attached: VimyStory.jpg (800x482, 285K)

Naruto reference?

Why not?

Cuz, I said so. W-why don't you s-show us something that represents something that you a-accomplished?

Attached: 1536885878445.jpg (470x470, 32K)

You have hundreds of cathedrals, the Brandenbourg gate is unic and symbolic.

It is not that known out of USA, statue of Liberty is your most famous monument by far.

Literally no one knows about it.

Literally no one knows about it.

Literally no one knows about it. Even pic related is more known.

Attached: ugly statue.jpg (450x352, 47K)

>the French built the statue part.
Are there other parts in ... a statue??

here she is going on journey

Attached: den-lille-havfrue-langelinie-.jpg (3872x2592, 730K)

Fucking Aztecs and making them believe they are Christians called Mexicans is such a big accomplishment though.

and here she is visiting china

oh no someone decapitated her again

Attached: 1488574-1964.jpg (960x540, 49K)

Interesting.

the pedestal is bigger than the statue

here she is with an average copenhagener

Attached: 7327226-bm.jpg (768x512, 121K)

>Most famous monument was made before Europeans were even there
Jesus Mexico why do you guys just suck so much?

It's probably the I Amsterdam thing in front of the Rijksmuseum

Attached: 300px-Selection_Birkenau_ramp.jpg (300x214, 21K)

more than you it seems

I mean I would have said Dome of the Rock but I guess you have to make Goyem remember 'muh holocaust' one more time.

here she is as a future copenhagener

Attached: No namewf.jpg (910x512, 69K)

afaik the pedestal was also built by us

How come it's always the same countries in these threads? You will never see Angola or Bangladesh showing up.

>have no real monuments
>every small town has the world's biggest _ instead

world's biggest moose

Attached: mac-moose-jaw-canada.jpg (1024x768, 348K)

More people know about the holocaust than the dome in Asia and Asia has lots of people so...

>every small town has the world's biggest _ instead
That sounds like the plains region of the states.

It's the most famous monument our country has ever built, but it's not in our country anymore.

Attached: Waterloo-2.jpg (1600x1045, 749K)

Well, there is other unique stuff.
Pic related for example. Monument in Leipzig from the Battle of the Nations when Napoleon got blown the fuck out.
That thing has a room inside that is big enough to fit the statue of liberty in there, including the the socket.

Attached: 1372197930922.jpg (2515x1500, 1.04M)

world's biggest hockey stick

> In 1875, Laboulaye proposed that the French finance the statue and the U.S. provide the site and build the pedestal

americans designed, financed and built the pedestal, it doesn't make sense to ship a bunch of rock across the atlantic

Attached: stick.jpg (600x360, 27K)

Attached: 1537190853212.jpg (2000x1283, 602K)

Holocoast isn't a monument though.

Aesthetic as fuck.

I think that's only out west

north Dakota, home of the largest buffalo

Attached: 1280px-World's_Largest_Buffalo_Monument_2009.jpg (1280x960, 219K)

Kansas, home of the largest ball of twine

We built the base.

Nice but no one knows it.

I want to be a millionaire just so I can one up all of these
this paddle is just something a guy built in his front yard, isn't even in a town

Everything west of Québec is western Canada

t. Maritimer

CN Tower is way better known abroad.

I have the urge to go Alexander on it.

Why is this a thing? I've seen it in movies when they go on some all-American family roadtrip and then get stuck somewhere in Nebraska near the biggest cornball or whatever in the world.

Also stuff like the Kyffhäuser monument..
It is on the top of a hill in which the legend say sits Friedrich Barbarossa on his throne, his beard growing deep in the earth, waiting to come back when Germany is in the highest needs to safe his country.
In the monument he sits at the bottom, above him Wilhelm I. (look at that guy in the middle bow to get an idea of the size)

Attached: kyffhaeuser-denkmal-01.jpg (800x600, 85K)

I considered it but I thought Euros might be more familiar with Vimy. Most people probably just think the CN tower is Seattle's space needle

When highways were first built irrelevant towns along the wide open spaces wanted to get travelers to stop.

All we have is a bunch of pipes.

Attached: SibeliusMonumenthelsinki2011.jpg (1465x1204, 464K)

What about the arminius statue? I like how the sword tip points towards Paris and not Rome.

Didn't think foreigners knew about the Space Needle, is Frasier really that popular abroad?

This maybe?

Attached: gsommonument.jpg (1396x931, 1021K)

lol

As a French guy I can confirm the CN Tower is better known, even if they don't necessarily know it's in Toronto. People don't usually care for other's war memorials.

Eiffel built the metal structure inside the statue.

They built this one when the South (Belgium) seceded because we lost our national independence monument.

Attached: Plein 1813.jpg (667x500, 200K)

You're a small town that wants tourism bucks, you build something stupid that can be easily advertised. I live two hours away from the world's largest thermometer.

Best monument of Germany for sure

It's usually what represents Canada in touristic flyers.

It's in a lot of movies

>Eiffel built the metal structure inside the statue.
The base is what the metal statue stands on not the internal skeleton.

I was just adding to the discussion, 1st post.

Yeah, another great. But I think you mix that up. His sword goes straight up.
You probably mean the "German corner" where in Koblenz Rhine and Mosel come together with a huge Wilhelm I. statue looking towards France.

Attached: koblenz-deutsches-eck-1000-teile--puzzle.61249-1.fs.jpg (1024x732, 335K)

rectal?

Shut the fuck up you autist.

>looking towards France
Not this shit again Hans...

Har har

Attached: Mitad del Mundo_2.jpg (800x528, 242K)

Suppose it's this

Attached: DSC00557-e1375787161533.jpg (300x400, 28K)

Is Wilhelm I controversial nowadays, because in my opinion he did nothing wrong?

Pourquoi?

also the gay capital of the UK according to some

Attached: salisburycathedral.jpg (1100x908, 798K)

Beautiful, but for UK it's Tower Bridge.

what the fuck are you talking about? that is not nearly our most famous monument

living under a rock?

especially popular during the Ramadan Bomb-a-thon

Attached: 07E70C2D-C966-4DAB-90FF-EC6FB6BD7B7B.jpg (1200x841, 119K)

I'd have thought Westminster or Big Ben.

it’s not even in London

As an outsider, it's Big Ben.

shit picture

it's in reference to the novichok suspects interview you dolt

the tower bridge is though?

what a bizarre and obscure reference.

look at this dood

>bizarre and obscure
Christ, you really are a cave-dweller.

well bongarong is full of arabs

That's how it is

>Post your country's most famous monument
