Her party is supposed to stand for Christian/conservative values and a center-right stance but Merkel started doing her own thing years ago. People kept voting for her because it somehow worked out but then came 2015 and she invited millions of 3rd worlders who aren’t qualified for anything to Europe.
She made that decision all on her own without consulting the senate or anyone else from her own party.
She just did it because the media forced her into a live show with a crying refugee girl.

Of course she also smelled the money of cheap working forces so she thought it'd be nice to have Mahmoud and Mutumbo living here. Everything about her became business and economy centered. She couldn’t care less about the wellbeing of the german citizens.

People do reelect her just because they are afraid of change and life is good right now (because the economy is good which really has nothing to do with her).
Even so there are still 28% of the people voting for her party (keep in mind it were close to 50% in good times) I still have to find anyone who actually LIKES her.
The common opinion is more like "Who else to vote for? Nazis (AfD), failed, castrated social democrats, Greens that want fuel to cost 5€/liter, car and bank lobbyist from the FDP?!"
