Comes from Siberia/Ural to Volga Region. They were under the rule of Bulgaria first (real Bulgaria with Bulgars not Slavs as modern Bulgaria), Golden Horde then, Khanate of Kazan then and Russian Empire from 1489 to now.

Most of them are. Udmurts in the north are blondes because of the influence of the Russians and the Komi. Udmurts in the north are dark-haired because of the influence of Tatars and Chuvashes.

Russian ads are not required to be translated into Udmurt, however. Russian officials also sabotage Udmurt and other minority language groups' participation in international organizations such as Finno-Ugric Peoples' World Congress.
