Why are the British so afraid of War nowadays? Or even conflict in general?
Why are the British so afraid of War nowadays? Or even conflict in general?
because there's no money to be made in it
They just do what the US does. What happened?
Jesus, will you do that with every once glorious european country?
lmao
>Iraq
>Afghanistan
>Libya
>Syria
And that's just in the past 15 years.
I just want to see how the different posters react to this simple statement of fact.
Pretty sure we're the most recent European power to go to war on it's own, and by quite a distance though.
you want a simple statement fact ? when i hear of Guatemala i think about an exotic sauce
Only if there is aryan blood or money to be made
War is stupid
Dying for rich old men is stupid
Dying in the middle-east for jews is stupid
But you guys do not seem proud of it?
This is what I mean.
Haha that is what I imagine foreigners think as well.
>But you guys do not seem proud of it?
Being proud of it isn't the same as being afraid of it, which what you asked in the OP.
>But you guys do not seem proud of it?
Is anybody proud of war? It's a horrific, brutal endeavour, that causes immense pain and suffering. We're proud of the fact that we won and recaptured our territory, but I don't think anybody is proud of the act of war itself. You'd have to be a sociopath to do that.
The British are the most jingoistic Israeli warmutt nation of Western Europe
Jeez, let me guess, Irish?
That is true, I assumed it would be implied. For a country that owes everything to war it just seems few people are proud of that.
Man, do all brits think like you?
Iraq was deeply unpopular in retrospect.
>That is true, I assumed it would be implied.
This line and the fact that you posted his thread in the first place makes you think you're being a bit less than genuine.
Most people in general are afraid of war and always have been.
Well mostly I just want to gauge the opinions of brit posters here. For your history, the last 70 years have been far less warlike and the wars have mostly been following the US. I also wanted to contrast with the French. But I agree with your assessment, I made the post a bit more provocative than it needed be.
That may be a factor yeah
>This is what I mean.
Yea and you need to understand war isn't like in the games and movies, it's not "cool" why would any sane person love war? I'd defend Britain but I'd never die in some desert shithole whiling shooting some farmers because the jews told america to
Would you say brits are proud of their military heritage?
Only the silly nationalistic ones. Why be proud of something you have not contributed to?
Hey bong, how does this flag make you feel?
Seems to me the Brits are giving you pretty much the same answers as we did.
Yeah seems like it. My only hope is the jingoist ones are in the general, but if you are the poster I think you are then you were correct.
Yours? Makes me think of gypsies and undesirable immigrants.
How did you arrive at that conclusion? We've been involved in all major conflicts of the 21st century.
That seems reductive a bit no? If it were true why does the UK feel guilt for colonialism?
Yes but I wouldn't boast about it IRL
>WTF why don't you want to waste huge amounts fo money kill a lot of peopel and ge ta lot of your people killed?
I dunno man buncha soibois
>Why be proud of something you have not contributed to?
Because human beings aren't meant to be drone-like, isolated individuals. We're part of a wider national collective.
Honestly this. Why is this opinion not more popular around here?
Apologise for Boudicca please
Argentines thought so too. No, they really tried to take Folklands only because they assumed british wont want a conflict.
Lurk more, it already is. Doesn't mean it's right tho.
>Why are the British so afraid of War nowadays?
Because they are mongrelized.
if anything we're still far far too keen on war
Because war is actually really expensive. I know the retards on this website romanticise the fuck out of it and think war is le epic, but in real life people actually evaluate their actions before carrying them out.
