The thing is that Coinbase using REQ would be a killer product. Maybe the ERC-20 support comes from adding the REQ platform instead of adding tokens.

Some, probably all of those disasters mentioned could accelerate crypto adoption, mind you. Especially inasmuch as any of them could destabilize trust in traditional asset classes and cause a mass exodus of investors looking for anywhere to put their money in that won't bleed like a pig.
