Another thing is that none of this really "requires" skycoin. I know he will design his software to use only his token, but you could copy paste his code and make it work with Nano or Eos or any other free, high throughput coin. I would think that any professional setup on a cell tower would accept many kinds of payment just to expand their customer base. I dont really see the need for skycoin brand skycoin.

Yeah, that's one of my concerns too. They claim to have been "working" on this for seven years but they have absolutely nothing to show for it except a pile of broken promises. Literally nothing actually works right now, its all 'planned for the future'. And yeah by the time the future ever comes some other coin will just copy it and the SKY token becomes worthless. This project is dead in the water.
