Andalusia: poor, uneducated, hopeless, filled with undesirables, desertification, vote socialist
Extremadura: poor, empty, hopeless, vote socialist, conformist, 40% of the scarce workforce are civil servants
Canary Islands: poor, filled with simpletons, no seasons, small and isolated, no real use beyond tourism

>not adjusted to cost of living (most of all rent)

The difference after taxes between 40k and 50k is around 350 Euro per month.
If you consider the cost of renting a flat, the difference looks a whole lot less impressive (like 100 Euro a month, even before you consider the difference in cost of services such as getting a haircut, going to a restaurant, having to rent in a more expensive area in order to avoid muslims etc.)

>>highest rate of homelessness and drug addiction in the country

to be the fair, the reason for this is the same reason why the lower mainland is such a great place to live: the weather is so nice that it attracts street people/junkies from all the cold parts of the country

As an Alaskan, I somehow feel responsible for this.
