I like it all since raw fish done right is delicious.
The rolls are meh but that's what there is in 90% of "sushi places", sashimi and nigiri are nice.
I love salmon so much i often just order a fuckton of salmon sashimi. If i had as nigiri or maki i'd get too full too soon
Rice and algae are fine, fish is disgusting.

I have never tasted sushi :( probably with the type of fish from my country I would also know badly given the salinity.
I like kind of sushi served on naked Japanese girl.

Raw fish in the western world needs to be frozen before it can be sold for consumption
Mexican sushi
Like licking the seabed
Does it hurt your feelings that the reason people even know about sushi is because murican chefs made them popular with their own recipes, and noone except a bunch of retarded hipsters cares about your own cuisine?
i hate sushi
i tried it once and it was disgusting
no desu it's not 寿司 anyways
fuck i want sushi now but can't afford it pfff
But that's the thing.
>寿司
Is just a boring rice with fish
>glorious Philadelphia rolls
Are a reason people love sushi, a perfectly balanced dish with rich taste.
>innocent pure combination of rice and a slice of fish with a tint of wasabi
YEAH ADD SUPERFLUITY TO EM
>YEAH ADD SUPERFLUITY TO EM
Yeah, thats how dishes are made.
At first there was some barbaric shit like just roasting the meat and adding some veggies to it. This is the state of sushi before the western chefs perfected them, calling it pure is like calling a dirty animal pure because it cannot think, stupid primitivism.
And now it is made into a complex meal that people can actually enjoy, and it wasnt done by you guys.
No, but I never tried sushi made by a Japanese only the ones made here. I don't like bitter rice and the texture it has, also I don't eat meat so it's not interesting for me.
I would like to try Japanese ramen and takoyaki though.
well then just enjoy stuff amerimutt created, it's a personal taste after all. it's not like every person can relish the quintessence of Crime and Punishment anyways.
>This is the state of sushi before the western chefs perfected them, calling it pure is like calling a dirty animal pure because it cannot think, stupid primitivism
also you really think adding more procedures to stuff makes stuff better? if so that's the pinnacle of retardation. Sushi is already perfect and you are just under the delusion that complicity is unconditionally better than simplicity
Oh i dont care about any kind of sushi, american or not, its just a question of objective superiority.
I once had horse meat sushi
>objective superiority
no it couldn't be more subjective because you are deluded that complicity is blindly better than simplicity when the important standard of food should be judged from its taste. you should base your argument on it if you want to argue food
>Caves are already perfect, why do we need to build houses?
>Water from the lake is already perfect, why do we need to boil it?
>Wild vegetables are already perfect, why do we need bother ourself with the complex process of raising them?
You are trying to defy human nature with your argument.
With this delusional thinking we would have never reached progress of any kind.
Stop making a fool of yourself, the perception of taste is subjective, you cannot base any argument on it.
What we can agree about is the simple fact of statistics. Noone ever gave a shit about japanese cuisine and sushi before american-style rolls were created, and now it is one of the most popular in the world, from this (and also basic logic) we can extrapolate that the complex and interesting taste of american sushi is better than boring rice and fish.
i told you you should look at its taste rather than new stuff you add to food when it comes to what you eat. yeah add cheese, avocado and whatever you want. but in my country we just appreciate a sheer combination of plain vinegar rice and a slice of fish with wasabi which enhances the taste. would you like to add green to your flag? ofc no because your flag is already perfect.
>What we can agree about is the simple fact of statistics
>the more people eat it the better it is
in your logic MacDonald is the best food because the largest number of people is consuming it.
>we can extrapolate that the complex and interesting taste of american sushi is better than boring rice and fish.
>what is his previous statement "taste is subjective reee"
>in your logic MacDonald is the best food because the largest number of people is consuming it.
Wrong, but burgers are a good example of what im talking about.
Back when burgers were created they were just a set of two buns with a meat patty inside. Noone cared about it, because it was plain and boring. But then it was made into a complex dish it is now, and they are world-wide popular.
>what is his previous statement "taste is subjective reee"
Thats why im using objective information to extrapolate from it.
Sushi is just a rice with fish -> Noone cares about it -> American chefs are using it as a base to create a new style of complex dish -> Lots of people around the world like it very much.
Yes, their individual perceptions of taste are subjective, but from it the statistics is born, and it objective.
>your flag is already perfect
No it is not, and the addition of green color would be an improvement if majority of people of my country would like to it.
>to do it*
well it wasn't like i wanted to prove 寿司 is better or worse than sushi at first, i just wanted to argue both of them are actually now totally different and some of people prefer the former and the others do the latter. i do know 寿司 seems (and in fact is) quite weird to foreigners compared to sushi, whose various ideas being incorporated into it make people feel less hesitant to give it a shot. i haven't experienced sushi, which foreigners made every effort to make better for non-japanese, and you probably haven't tried 寿司 in my country, which is already perfect to the point lots of gastronomer love despite the fact it basically consists of only 3 stuff : rice, fish and wasabi.
i had been joking when i posted "disgusting" and "yeah add superfluity to em" parts but your post after them triggered me. i was a bit childish, sorry for that.
I hate it. It's plain disgusting.
>gastronomer love despite the fact it basically consists of only 3 stuff : rice, fish and wasabi
And that why i dislike them, they are pretentious schmucks that have zero objectivity behind them, yet try to school other people on what is supposed to be good food.
>i had been joking when i posted "disgusting" and "yeah add superfluity to em" parts but your post after them triggered me. i was a bit childish, sorry for that.
There is no need to be sorry, Jow Forums was made for emotional arguments between people autistic enough to care about stuff on the internet.
>no need to be sorry
i feel like shit after arguing on /inth
Deep fried, cheesy California rolls are my favorite.
so i make it rule to end it in a less unpleasant way
Okay, thats just disgusting, im not going to argue for your cuisine anymore.
Unagi
Ikura
I really like sushi appetizer agedashi tofu
What about bacon sushi?
how does it taste like?
hate the sweetness of the rice
mixing that with the taste of raw fish just upsets my stomach
doesn't help that it's not particularly cheap either
What about a weaponized superresistant smallpox virus outbreak in Seattle?
Overpriced and bland imo. For me, it's ramen.
Taste great, but the texture is off.
Like that’d stop us from turning other countries cuisine into abominations.
Only faggots don't like sushi.
I like every kind, but the ones I like the least are the American-style ones that go overboard with the sauces and fillings.
basic salmon maki is the best
I don't care for the sweet ones at all
>paying top dollar for a slice of raw fish on rice and algae with soy sauce
That's how it must feel to be culinarily cucked out of taste.
classic sake and maguro sashimi or on simple beds of rice, the fattier the meat the better.
rolls are nice to look at but take too much work for something you're gonna finish in a quarter of a minute, and don't differ in taste much
Yes
All sushi
California rolls are awful by the way
t. Californian
