Popular brokers for stock trading: Robinhood >commission free and no minimum to open robinhood.com
> How is it free? Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service
> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet? Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.
> When is it coming to my country? The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.
Interactive Brokers >$1 commission per 100 shares. $10k minimum to open, $3k if 25 or under. Lowest margin interest. Free API access interactivebrokers.com
TD Ameritade >$6.95 commission per trade. No minimum to open. Fantastic data/charting through their free ThinkorSwim service tdameritrade.com
Last thing: probably going to do a covered call of QQQ with a 5-10% OTM call sold, and buy a 2-5% OTM call. Also considering swapping some component of it out with SPY somehow. I think I got the idea from Baggy
Joseph Evans
so it's net debit ? do you own the underlying ?
Nathaniel Morgan
in response to your post. First of all we're all supposed to be investing with liquid capital beyond our 6 month nest egg.
Second of all 10 years from now if I can turn 100k in debt into something greater than that, something that generates more than the juice from the lone. I'll gladly take both the debt and what it is going to pay for.
3rd where can I set up life insurance that will protect my retarded brother and his cats and my 40 employees.
4th Anybody investing money they can't afford to lose is playing a dangerous game.
Lucas Campbell
also is it possible to buy life insurance for an employee with out them knowing the corporation has bought the policy, and at the untimely demise either give the check to the rightful family or keep it and give it to my self as a bonus and pay taxes on it.
Forget ethics, I'm a capitalist.
Dylan Morris
Investing is a mix. You secure your future before you aim for the moon. If you have a small business Guardian acts as a good hub for everything. Guardian has the best Whole Life out there, and they partner with a ton of different businesses that specialize in maximizing your businesses 401k offerings and Business Overhead Insurance (BOI).
But just to reiterate, the 100k debt producing more is a pure numbers game, if you can negotiate a 3-4% rate I would say go for it every-time. But, even if it is more like 5-6%, people who don't have tons of capital saved need to have 20-40k saved so they don't have to draw from these investment vehicles in he case of unforeseen life events.
Fun fact: The average person is disabled where they cannot work for 2 years at some point in their career, and this reduces their lifetime worth by up to a third. Buy DI insurance, its cheep as shit.
Anthony Jones
Two things You can obtain key person insurance: When they die/quit you get a sum of money to replace the disrupted cash flow from their absence. Key person is very useful and can be bought on almost anyone in the business. Next You can offer a life insurance plan as a group policy that is required for ALL employees, but without justifiable tiers of employees you can't offer something to some and not all.
That being said, since you own a business. Have your contract re written yearly if you have any partners or a spouse. A business contract that is air tight keeps your partners wife from stealing a 4th of your business, it keeps the business together in a divorce, it makes sure you get your fair share if you retire or get bought out. Getting evaluated should be a top priority. In the event you have a partner you can cross purchase life insurance for the sole purpose of paying their family when they die/retire without it impacting your business.
If you want any specific counsel give me a throw away email or something, but I would prefer not flood the stock market general with complicated business insurance talks.
Christian Wright
Yeah you're right. Guardian is good that's what I've already got on everybody, the 401k is another smaller financial group under their umbrella. Yeah if I can't work for 2 years people aren't only getting laid off, but damn business will go under.
Good morning! How was everyone's night? I'm ready for gains. Btw selling bond calls before close because of tomorrow's shitpost right? I wouldn't think they'd do anything significant but I'd rather not get bogged.
long treasuries Powell will keep policy unchanged USD keeps being strong, emerging markets will get rekt, equity will be sold off, and bonds will rise
Sebastian Kelly
won't 20+ year treasuries get rekt as he hikes rates on short term bonds though
Dominic Robinson
Alright /smg/ what are today's meme stocks?
Cooper Barnes
BZUN is where its at.
Nolan Howard
MU to 60 by end of week?
My bet is it tanks hard at open up $3 after hours, going to be a sell off at open.
Jace Anderson
Since my thought (please note I don't bet on macro binary events anymore, I am a Buffett-sama memeister) is Powell will keep his policy and number of rate hikes unchanged, treasuries' are at the "right" price.
But the policy continuation means USD keeps being in its bullrun, which harms the emerging market. Funds would get margin called on their EM positions and sell off their other positions.
Also, treasuries are one of the most shorted stuff. A short squeeze is very probable.
Thomas Evans
any good 3x etfs to go long short term bonds then?
crony capitalism which is good on an investing point of view, until the state is bankrupt
nice pick user
Hudson Williams
I bought a 57$call on MU. I’m about to make a bunch of money.
John Taylor
>Stacey Cunningham Jesus couldn't have asked for a worse name for this.
Jackson Martin
Anyone explain why Robinhood allows you to queue for option orders even though options don't trade after hours? Always confused me
Christian Butler
Because queueing shit is not trading
Easton Murphy
Welp I'm retarded but lucky, apparently it's because of their ISP business.
Jaxon Cox
it is nice don't forget to take some profits
Carter Brooks
does the NYSE chair actually do anything important?
Christopher Rodriguez
gold bounced like a mother fucker huh
Carter Myers
Morning Everyone. Futures are green. I'm finally green with MU. I just read that they have a new price target of 115. Goddamn.
Noah Parker
That's why I said that.
I'm asking because Robinhood shows right now MU calls for $60 .12
Which isn't going to be the price at all once it opens.
Why would RH allow people to queue for that lol
Ryder Martinez
Micron boys being rewarded today
Joshua Walker
Morning fellas, long night going off of 2.5 hours of sleep. The gas pump that got hit at my job last night will trigger the Golden Bull RunTM. Enjoy ascension today boys were gonna make it T.uso options faggot
Dylan Watson
If only AMD could go up like MU is doing.
Levi Thomas
I sold CHK yesterday when it spiked, always stings when shit keeps throttling up after selling.
Dylan Reyes
Guys does anybody have any good resources for a brainlet like me to start learning about the basics & fundamentals of investing. I heard The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham & Margin of Safety by Seth Klarman. Are these books worth the read? What does biz think? Any other suggestions?
AMD is a long hold stock, if you got burned you bought at one of 3 crazy spikes that lasted 1-2 days. Don't blame the game. Its fine to short term these tech companies, but maybe don't buy a single day after you missed a 20% spike.
Nolan Gutierrez
Almost all tech companies are long holds.
Look at MU for example. A lot of people going to be rich today
Kayden Lopez
Is there a reason I'm currently long TLT?
Isaiah Campbell
I would agree typically; although, I would encourage profit taking when they go crazy.
Colton Lopez
Thanks, just bought 10
Adrian Williams
Fuck! I missed out on Khols didn't think they would jump $3.
Angel Brown
buy high sell low thanks user. Anybody have any legit resources to start learning this shit?
Evan Ramirez
Any algo traders here? Any good APIs besides the interactive brokers meme?
Samuel Bell
Me too, I think I bought a call yesterday based on nothing but somebody mentioning it here
this realization is usually a warning sign that I'm about to lose a lot of money
fuck, its opening up on an uptick too. has the news not broke out yet?
Camden Thomas
Compared to it's peers it's shit. I hope the best for AMD since they are Nvidia and Intel's competition but as a stock I hate it. Fucking MU from the end of 2016 has gone from 20-something to what almost 60.
It's a sci-fi story about alien overlords and airliner spaceships.
Dylan Williams
Fuckin open already FUCK!
Isaiah Lopez
>Any good APIs besides the interactive brokers meme? YES. Quantopian, dude. It's kind of like THE place to get started in quant. It can even integrate with Robinhood.
>Any algo traders here? I'm trying a bit more of an ML approach now, but momentum trading seems pretty solid
Michael Roberts
If I had been holding MU at 20 I would be cashing out about now and waiting for re-entry, I missed the train so I'm gonna wait till at the next stop when it needs to refuel.
Jace Baker
Plan for 2day! Weird creepy penis edition
Expect bounce between 273.4 - 274.1 There overall short sentiments for selling good China news, but this probably going invite short squeeze!
Glad you seem better today. No penis on your chart yesterday.
Henry Nguyen
TSLA's price movement does not follow news and never makes any sense. Personally, I won't touch it. Not buying, not shorting, definitely not options
John Stewart
either way im setting an alert ive gone short on elon and survived. just quick little bites
Zachary Murphy
did someone ride SPYs cock too hard and break it? the penis index looks like it has much more than a "healthy curve" to it
Ryan Robinson
GET LEADY
Elijah Williams
Your doing gods work, rkg. Kek
Kevin Cox
SDRL down to .50 premarket, puts are ATM
Parker Davis
i can smell it so close
also looks like HMNY might flash crash today. if it does, load up on cheap 0.50cent calls for like 1$ a pop, and exercise when it moons later this week/month
Oliver Barnes
I dont think China good news is going to be enough for this market. its already priced in
Owen Nguyen
Only the beginning of this chinkfest mattered for the market. Now nobody gives a fuck.
Luis Cruz
it's a gap and fill? we discussed this. Oh yeah.
Xavier Hall
Shit I fucked up, I accidentally ordered a market call instead of the limit. That was a 300dollar mistake. Lesson learned, fuck.
Christopher Evans
Just sold for $5 profit. See ya in lamboland poorfags.
Jordan Miller
wow I'm up 10% do I just sell everything?
Evan Flores
yeah i think it could maybe fill that gap before tomorrow. maybe up to 118ish. either way i reckon itll go up somewhat today. if stocks go red too, well get a boomer pump
