Exact same reason it will be used in the future: to kill niggers.

Roman bread was notoriously hard to cut through.

shouldn't you post this thread at ?
we can't help you with the specs here

It was used to improve the Long Blade skill.

Because it was a fucking good sword design against the weapons and armour of the time.

Probably good for fighting in formation due to being short.
Just a guess though.

Because most body armour at that time was thin brass plates, leather with brass fittings, thin low grade iron chain-mail that was more like a web of filaments. 90% of shields were wooden plates either flat or curbed under steam.
That thing penetrated without bending, slashed through without breaking, you could even hit from the sides of the blade and brake bone or use the knob at the bottom since it was a counterweight.
Problem is you had to be both strong and very crazy to use them since it's very close range combat being sometimes 2 or 3 palms away from the opponent.

Shortswords were meta because the entire heavy armour class was bugged to an unusable extent. So min/maxing attack speed and piercing was the go.

It was 60 cm or more. Short swords are 30 - 50 cm n00b

To kill people.

because pierce >>>>>> slash

Yeah I guess 60cm would be long to BC manlets

That's including the hilt.
The gladius is listed in wikipedia under short swords.

That's just the classification. If you go around using a Long Blade instead of a short blade you will only get Strength Attributes and you will probably only have 30 Speed like a noob. By the time you use and actual short sword you'll be up against an Ogrim Titan missing every hit.

for gorila warfare. Since romans were so fucking shitty at it, they copied the designs from conquered peoples to suply their own hastae and turmas with

was really good for massacring naked germanic snownigger wh*Tes

he is right though how tall were romans on average?
like fucking 168cm? 5ft5 like damn their manlets must have been 4ft something.
Glad the devs gave us height buffs since then.

Nords and Bretons are still taller than Imperials though, they are the eternal manlets. I think even Dark Elves are taller lmao.
Well then I guess the Spatha would've been the only way to level Long Blade. Romans must have only had Spear and Short Sword for their Major skills.

To copy the Hispanic chad.

The tree od empire must be watered with blood of the barbarians

Dark elves are on average shorter than romans were, just what happens when you drink cow piss for 6 centuries.

We know from archaeology that the average gladiator was around 168cm, they would have been taller than the average male population.

jesus was only 164cm and people think he is worth worshiping lol

Imperials were shorter than Bretons but they still used Pilums to fuck them up.

I guess height only matters if you sniff women's feet.
