It is time for separation of nation and state

All sensible people realised long ago that having a state church leads to oppression of religious minorities as we have currently in the UK with Catholics and Muslims but we must get to the core of oppression. Nation states.

A nation, a ethnic, cultural, linguistic group of peoples whom identify with each other getting their ow n state to govern themselves for their collective group interest. This is in group out group and by definition privileges the majority group who are a part of the 'nation' and disenfranchises minorities whom are not a part of said nation.

I can hear the squeals of the far right wanting to preserve their privilege. 'B-b-but the UK is a NATION of NATIONS so it is ok if we oppress people of colour and Poles, NO! The British nation consists of English, Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish protestants. Translation Britain is a country made for white English speaking protestants with every single aspect of government, social order and media designed by them and for them. This is devastating to minorities who feel a sense of identity crisis as they are not a part of the nation the state they live in is designed for.

There are various ways for the nation to be abolished while retaining the state but I would like to discuss how it can be done in the thread.

no. rather the opposite. the nation state is a huge step up from feudal society with its endless succession wars. people always need identity. be it based on basic tribal alegiance, racial or religious people group together. a nation state is the most robust form. nations can band together to form larger and stronger nations in the face of external threat. like the usa or a potential federal eu. but abandoning nation states enterily just means reverting to tribalism.

Does moving forward mean further fragmenting societies as part of some anarchist fantasy? Does it mean several nation-states foregoing some measure of sovereignty and unionising in the way that the EU has?

I am sure nations will exist for a long time yet. But Europe should come together and form a superstate, because it will make us all stronger.
