Militarily the Canadian army has gone vastly downhill since then in terms of manpower and equipment, whereas America has improved. It's irrelevant though, a modern war between Canada would have more to do with computers than guns.

It's not just a cyberwarfare thing. Do you know how to tell a Canadian apart from an American? Neither do we. A room full of people making fake documents and a room full of people on computers could see tens of thousands of Canadians in every major city and in every sector including the military almost overnight, no training necessary, with absolutely no way of knowing who was who for sure. The Americans could of course do the same to us. It would just completely deadlock both countries and grind them to a mutual halt.
