There is nothing more comfy than a log cabin in winter time

Chalet > log cabin

Attached: Winter-tag-1920x800.jpg (1920x800, 367K)

Wrong

I'm not architecturally literate enough to know the difference. Anything made of logs is a log cabin to me. We have chalets here but it's usually just used to sound French and therefore more fancy to tourists, I don't think it has anything to do with design.

A Chalet is like a log cabin, just better in every regard.

What country is your pic from? I actually thought about making a house that way.

google says 'Mexico' but could be any ye olde colonial iberoamerican house

Ruined chalet, it now looks like a commie block.

I like those and they have character but I wouldn't nominate something that crowded as world's comfiest.

Yeah that's gorgeous. I wish courtyards were done here in burgerland because they're just so pleasant.

Sweet! That's Colombia? Special province or just general?

Puebo Revival looks comfy to me.

easy question, OP.

Southwestern US architecture in general is very aesthetic.

Yeah, but it's to be noted that not all those houses have courtyards. However, I like it when they do.

This looks cool but not at all in the comfy way.

What style is this called

Fucking seconded.
Courtyards are awesome, It’s my favorite thing about Mediterranean or Spanish-style houses

Cuntingham Estates

I also like colonial architecture, mainly due to their austere appearance.

and towns

Some old New England houses are quite comfy. Good for sitting down with a cup of tea and a bowl of clam chowder for an evening of reading poetry or American novels.

Is there no love for Japanese architecture in here? I'm only mildly weebish but I've always loved their aesthetics.

Surely not the comfiest but I like them.

Attached: pausilipo.jpg (793x436, 113K)

The actual more "traditional" (since they were more commonly used by commoners) type of houses are not that comfy. They are called "savupirtti", "smoke house". They were kept warm by constantly feeding a fire in the oven, and the smoke was let in to the room because, surprise, there were no chimneys, and the smoke was let out through a hatch in the sealing after a few hours. Even though most people changed into more advanced houses over the years, like to the ones you see in your pic, some of the rural poor were still living in these even in the 1950s. Of course their insides could range from comfy to Auswitch as did the outside aesthetics range from a bunch of sticks to eye-pleasing.

western ranch houses make my dick hard

Attached: wyoming ranch.jpg (749x499, 55K)

Yeah I'm sure that's highly functional in winter if there's no electricity but it sounds far from comfy. Dunno how you get used to everything including you and your clothes reeking of smoke all the time.

Chimney and stoves are an improvement.

all these buildings are trying too hard, the best choice is a federation style australian home

I always wanted to town a house like this deep in the forest/outback.

They look so comfy.

Yeah, there's a reason why people aren't living in those anymore. My ancestors were pretty poor peasents, so they probably lived in those until the 19th Century when an entire generation said "fuck this shit" and left to the big cities, where they became bourgeoisie. The traditional houses of rich farmers were much, much more comfy. (Please note that the pic is from museum, actual old traditional houses usually have a more modern interior.)

Swiss houses are always so comfy. My aunt lives in Switzerland, so maybe I need to find a room from a traditional-style hotel the next time I visit her.

Attached: 459.jpg (751x867, 524K)

Looks like an awful lot to keep clean.

wherever home is, whoever says different is a rootless cuckkjew

Nice, I totally dig that one. How common are those today, and where are they?

You should know what kind of house that is just by the look and filename, that's the kind house where the owner doesn't clean.

Wheres this?

>disproportionate bay at the front
>with a yet more disproportionate gabled roof on top
>considering the vinyl siding the ornamentations probably aren't real either
Could've at least posted an original federation house and not some modern imitation. Those Melbourne terraced houses look really comfy though.

I’ve been to that road and I definitely felt depressed having to leave

I love those British houses where you can see wood beams in the ceiling. Some old American homes have that too.

those are just normal ass houses

*conversion into a hotel intensifies*

What made these people build five story houses in the first place anyway?

>literal ant people

Spanish mission style houses are some of the comfiest in America
They add a nice variety to my city which is mostly Anglo stuff

Attached: 551A6DC6-4240-4D93-BF6A-5C46A80A8D0E.jpg (493x641, 104K)

That's pretty cool. What city?

To you, maybe. But most Americans born after 1940 are only used to suburbs. Rowhouses are still very rare in America. Can’t be more than 1% of our housing stock.

That house is from LA but I live in the Deep South and we have some Spanish style buildings here because part of my state was Spanish Florida

I think they're an east coast thing mostly. Like our oldest cities.

You an Alabamafag? If so what part?

B’ham

looks like New Orleans

Only cleaner.

I grew up there and lived there a long time. We've probably talked on here before.

damn that sucks, america would have been so good if it was an anglo country

There are a few, although many of them likely have a modern interior. That style in the last pic is nowadays considered to be more "museum" style. Honestly, I do not know how popular the traditional interiors are. At least my grandma's sister owns a house which has a same type of "traditional" style as the earlier post had. So unfortunately most of that type would be found in private houses, but I think some resorts may rent cabins with a traditional style.
But if you're looking for the "official" type of traditional houses, usually the ones labeled as "log houses",
are pretty easy to find. Their interior designs may change to more modern styles, but most of the traditional stuff is usually there.

Attached: etusivu.jpg (600x292, 74K)

It’s cool. In the last several years there’s been a big push to build non-suburban stuff laid out more like an Old World city.
Rowhouses are still uncommon even in that movement but I know they’re growing because I follow a lot of real estate news.

Courtyards are excellent and are very common in oriental architecture. The Romans always had courtyards in their homes as well. I think its an awesome feature in the right climate

I really like these compact yet detached neighborhoods.

So could suburb houses technically be considered as America's traditional house-style?

What's the state like?

What, Alabama?

Yep. Birmingham more specifically. What are some similar cities?

Birmingham is alright, man. Much of the city is ghetto and much of the suburbs are redneck, but it's not all bad. It's becoming a lot more liberal. Elected a young black Bernie Sanders protege as mayor last year. The restaurant scene in Birmingham is pretty amazing for a medium size city.

>burger
>no /comfy/ courtyards
>only plywood mcmansions
Fucking why?
wtf I fucking love india now!
>forest
>outback
That's a plantation house. Exists with a few oldgrowth trees but mostly farmland around it. Retard.

I said house like this in the forest/outback, I didn't say in the plantation.

It's the ultimate neetdom

>plantation
Would you be interested in some fine Negros for your plantation? They are all of East African stock and dwell in hot dry climates.
