I live in the UK and no one here would accept more than 5 working days delivery. We have strong consumer protection laws too.
I've got refunds directly from my card/bank at least 50 times over the past couple of years. I don't even message the shop first. Sometimes if it hasn't arrived in a week I just charge it back and get a refund to my card - even if the item arrives later and the website said it would take a while to arrive. I don't even message to find out where it could be.
The culture here is next day delivery or fast delivery and quick refunds if not.
I don't think anyone would wait for 1-2 week delivery unfortunately.
Italy here, and I do think they do, plenty of my friends wait weeks for cool and nice and cheap af phone covers

I can get phone covers delivered same-day delivery (or next day if I order after noon) for £1/2 on amazon. I don't see why I would wait 2/3 weeks for something so cheap already.

yeah I didn't mean it in a bad way, just that it's definitely easier to sell this to people who aren't used to good ecommerce/delivery/competition in their country etc.
Also UK here and agreed mostly. What you want is something similar to that watch thing that went around on FB half a year/year ago. Cheap watches shipping directly from suppliers in China, on the site say that they are ‘free’ as an introductory offer. Only charge is £8.99 for shipping, but there will be a 2-4 week wait to fulfill orders as you’re a new company. Once they arrive they can’t get a refund if they don’t like it as they only paid for shipping.
It was actually genius, thing is that watches have been done now so I need to figure out something else. I’m thinking maybe handbags or women’s jewellery

they see an advert on facebook which is supposed to be selling something with a flashy video and thousands of likes, they follow the link and buy it. no checking reviews, no checking alternative sources for prices.
