this could be here just as well desu

I think American developers have mostly started doing things right after the housing market caused that recession.
The form/function of these buildings is good but I hope we get better architecture too.

Your pic but a few floors higher, usually like 8-10 for middle class buildings. For poorfag buildings giant anthills for few thousand people per complex

Beijing.

I live here.

Looks like Portland

doesn't look too bad.

It's very random and looks kinda wierd from the street, neighbourhoods like that don't form a urban cluster, they're just scattered around.

i live in here

sure, it's a pure commuter town. there's nothing else to do than staying in your apartment or driving around. but at least the design is a bit more interesting than the classic commieblock.

Yeah i can see the same style but not design.
New buildings here are designed in the old way where there's a yard in the middle of the whole complex like in the city center

Here

Pic related, its not the worst thing in the world though it proves that we are literally incapable of adding aesthetic to constructions and that our construction industry will have a stroke if anyone even thinks about plastering a building (without leaving the bottom fifth bare). I mean I get that mould gets underneath and fucks the thing up but if the Irish can pull it off and make their buildings look lush as fuck then why can't we?

Also this so fucking much, and its always Londoners gentrifying the shit out of the area and ensuring that every green space gets systematically hunted and burned to the fucking ground. Seriously, why aren't we building high-rises everywhere? Then we can have a dozen lake districts and not copy-paste chav villas consuming half the land in every community.

It's usually apartments with designs like this.
This one specifically is being built as part of a new (and relatively big) shopping mall that got built very recently and is supposed to be a town center
Another similar thing is planned on the other side of the city but with 5 towers for apartments and offices.

Euros color them too, sometimes

Gotta be #1 in all aspects of society!

They buy up two old houses and build one of these. They're too expensive, like $180-200 USD for a 2 bedroom apartment, fuck that.

Smth like this, but with 16~ floors.

In the prosperous parts of the country

Attached: 303532.jpg (800x533, 231K)

True, in American developments the middle is usually a parking deck.
Or part of it's parking and the rest is a pool.

Buildings should never be more than 5 stories high (ceiling height adjustable).

Anything larger is of inhuman scale.

Attached: 1516408445155.jpg (848x1200, 105K)

OP here, I like this design. It's a new shape but it's still very functional and traditional.
If something like this were built in the US it'd be a luxury development.

The Jane Jacobs rule is 4-7 stories, but it's never a strict rule.
Varied height is great, the demons are 1-story buildings.

In the shit parts of the country

Attached: 44444.jpg (1365x704, 232K)

Varied height is important yes. The uniform height and long lengths are what make commieblocks look so gloomy despite having some good qualities (courtyards, high density, etc)

Sometimes this. Awful.

Attached: gfds.jpg (1288x716, 121K)

But Hans, those are just more commieblocks!

Damn, seriously why don't you build some high-rises.
The problem with America is most houses are either fully detached or high-rise, but it seems like Britain is too dense to keep doing mid-rise.

That's not the prettiest thing in the world but it's a good addition to any American city, considering how much they need development.

God that is so fucking shitty

The problem with your pic is that the shape and material is uniform. The varied heights and shapes are symmetric which defeats the purpose. The building looks boring and redundant.

See pic related. There is a uniformity here, but still a lot to look at without appearing too gaudy or chaotic. Even though it's a long stretch of building it looks more human because it is subdivided properly. Imagine this was a uniform square building without the dormers... It would be horrific.

Tennis court and football fields look especially ridiculous since 8 months out of 12 everything is covered with snow
