does your country have any legend about it's origin?
Poland(and also Czechia) has a story about three brothers, Lech, Czech and Rus who split up and went into different directions
Lech wandered to the north and found an eagle nest protected by a white eagle and this is where polish coat of arms comes from
he founded a town there and named it Gniezno (polish Gniazdo - nest)
Czech went south and founded Czechia and Rus went east and founded the Kievan Rus
this story is known since at least 13th century and proves that even that long ago some slavic countries were aware of common roots
Does your country have any legend about it's origin?

Depends on the location. Eastern Franks Larp as Romans (the Romulus Remulus story) and the rest was basically nordic mythology with Freya and Loki and shit
Dlugosz had some funny theories on the origins of Lithuania
>we wuz romans an shiet
Then there's the whole thracian/dacian/sarmatian/phrygian origin story.
But if you just want a nice legend then there's one about the Iron Wolf legend for Vilnius, or maybe that tale of two brothers raised by a bear for Samogitia.
Canada was said to be founded by transgendered twins born of a French goddess and English king. Fearing them their father abandoned them on the banks of Hudson's Bay where they were suckled by a she-beaver. Eventually they split up and founded the cities of Toronto and Montréal but eventually the founder of Toronto slut/fat shamed the other twin to death.
Some random aztec warlord had a vision of founding his city in the middle of a muddy lake infested with snakes, thus why our coat of arms has an eagle eating a snake.
LOTR apparently for England.

yeah, earth was created from duck egg's shards and first man väinämöinen, born from goddess ilmatar, brings life to it.
USSR was very-very evil and colapsed becase of all it's evilness. that is how Belarus was born
and to this day Belarus is the last soviet socialist republic
Not really, but we have this: en.wikipedia.org
When will Belarus start speaking Belarusian?
No really, but during the middle age there was some legend about franks and then gaullish people being descendants of troyans
the rainbow serpent came down from the dreamtime and made all of the plants and animals, then he had all these left over parts he hadn't used, so he put them all together and made the platypus.
The Danes descended from Frey. Norwegians descended from the thunder God Thor. Swedes descended from Odin. He gave us land
sounds like a transferred legends from roman times. romans thought themselves as descendants of troy.
We created our own land. Gods are lazy faggots.
in British mythology, Brutus, a descendant of the Trojan Aeneas, founded, named and became the first king of Britain.
based norgays, descended from the best marvel hero
how do you think hometaking went down? we asked nicely to be our slaves?
This is according to the old laws of Uppsala. It is my personal belief that you Finns descended from Loke. It would fit your personalities very well.
nah, we are descended from pic related. he was a bit of a cunt tho.
The founding myth of Korea is based on stories of tigers and bears. Usually the myths of Ancient Korea and Japan are intertwined though. Most of all, South Koreans usually call Jeju Island a mythical island. Jeju Islanders tend to link even one small stone to myth.
but danes descended from pigs
I know you are. But as part of the Norse mythology you must admit that Loke fits the Finns pretty well
Frey was really into pigs
>Be Hunor and Magor
>casually hunt with 50-50 warriors
>saw a deer
>It's magic and shit
>follow it through mountains, swamps and deserts
>finally reach a nice place
>mfw it's pretty comfy
>quickly marry 102 Alan women
>Hunor and his warriors are now the ancestors of the Huns
>Magor and his warriors are now the ancestors of the us
That's a pretty cool story, thanks for sharing
>It would fit your personalities very well.
elaborate
Loke was basically the shitposter of the Norse pantheon
>mfw when the ice giants are an allegory for the Finno-Ugric people
>mfw the Vaenir are the ancient finnic gods
>mfw the Aesir are the indo-nigger invading goods
>mfw Ragnarök will cleanse the world from the Indo-scum
How about no
>The Chronicle of Lejre (“Chronicon Lethrense”) written about 1170 introduces a primeval King Ypper of Uppsala whose three sons were Dan who afterwards ruled Denmark, Nori who afterwards ruled Norway, and Osten who afterwards ruled the Swedes.
>It is stated in Norse sources that Nór was the founder of Norway, from whom the land supposedly got its name.
There's a pretty good chance the jötnar were an allegory for Finns though
there is a story about St. James wrecking the moors on a white horse, but the "battle of Covadonga" was probably a brawl between bandits
Jättar were all over the place, they could be found anywhere but mostly in the mountains. Or do you mean specifically ice giants?
Two warlords from Transylvania and Maramures left the Kingdom of Hungary and dismounted south and east of the carpathian mountains. The first took with him a coalition of romanian, saxon, hungarian and slav refugees and left the Kingdom to found Wallachia and the latter hunted down an auroch until he arrived in a beautiful land and settled it to found Moldova.
You mean Polish?
nope. btw finns in norse sources doesn't refer to modern finns, but short and swarthy samis
This. I find it unlikely simply because Finns are usually described as short in all of our historical sources. The ice giants were also wiped out.
Britain was allegedly founded by a Trojan ("Brutus of Troy") who was descended from the Greek goddess Aphrodite. Other Christianised accounts claim he was descended from Noah. He was exiled from Italy (where his family had lived since the fall of Troy) and later received a vision from the goddess Diana telling him of a mythical land (Britain) populated by an evil race of giants. He saw it as his mission to conquer this land and free it from the giants. Along with other displaced Trojans, he made his way across Europe and eventually reached Britain. The Trojans eventually expel the giants and Brutus of Troy declares himself King of Britain (the name "Britain" is said to have derived from his name) and everybody lives happily ever after.

I can only think of this, but its more of an anecdotal myth than a real legend.
clovis was a sperg
>wipe out all the tall finns
>only the small ones survive
People believed that Ireland is the real world manifestation of Dagda's daughter Eriu
In the original legend there was no Rus brother, Soviet propaganda added him.
Russia was established by vikings way after Poland and Czechia
Wasn't Rus added to the legend much later?
Not a legend, just the factual historical truth.
Bulgars come > defeat Byzantium Empire > establish the First Bulgarian State. Bulgars and Thracians form the most powerful empire on the Balkans that grows into the first Bulgarain Empire which conquires half of Europe, spreads our language and culture to half a billion people worldwide. Old Bulgarain language becomes the basis for the creation of other languages in north Europe.
On the picture is Han Asparuh and its army arriving on the Balkans and defeating the Romans.
>a god and a goddess had sex and created japanese islands
>they also gave birth to many gods, some of which ruled japan at first
>one of those gods in heaven, the sun goddess amaterasu, ordered her grandson to rule japan
>he descended to japan and married one of goddesses living there and their son married another goddess and had a son again
>the son named iwarebiko aka emperor jinmu conquered yamato region and founded the yamato dynasty
>it continues to reign to this day
