Francaigh is very similar to the Irish word for Frenchman "Francach". Is there a connection or is it just a coincidence?

Ah go on. I enjoy a good Dublin horror story.
im not your bf
Been 18 for more than half a year now and I still don't have my voter card yet, is there something specific I have to do for it?
>Denis Naughten has resigned
Nice """""""Independent"""""""" you voted for there certain people of Roscommon-East Galway. Next time don't vote for the definitely not a Fine Gaybo candidate man.
You never will be with that attitude. Just share the story.
Did you check whether you were only the electoral register?
yet :)
Naughten strikes me as a bit of a gormless fool, and there seems to be a keen awareness of this in Leinster House (Leo basically ordered him to resign in the end). Way out of his depth in working on the tendering process for the absolute shambles that is the National Broadband Plan. Just watch as the only remaining bidder gouges the government on the pricing and then either fails to deliver or delivers a sub-par service. Another case of rural Ireland getting fucked by political incompetence and vested interests.
This debacle also adds to the mountain of evidence that demonstrates why Independents should never be given ministerial portfolios.
Zappone is doing very well in hers although she seems to be the exception in this government. The sooner Shane Ross is gone as well the better and Halligan doesn't seem very competent at all.
Zapppne has a mickey mouse ministry.
>Zappone is doing very well
That's great but she's a idpol obsessed y*nkoid so she should still get the sack

look at my bespoke unkempt beard it clearly shows my social conscience credentials
Too many people protesting rent these days, just move to a different place if you don't like the price. Similarly, if you don't like your pay or working conditions then just get a different job instead of striking
stupid student cunt
>if you don't like your pay or working conditions then just get a different job instead of striking
quite pathetic desu
Dude just buy more money lmao.
>Wanting Dubs to spread around the country
You're right though, it's what they should do. It would just mean the rest of us have to pay a heavy price...
>Similarly, if you don't like your pay or working conditions then just get a different job instead of striking
Striking is part of the negotiation process for better conditions, if your demands are too high then the employer can simply fire you. Workers shouldn't be treated like slaves who have to endure the conditions they're given.
Of course in an ideal socialist economy where everyone has a living wage and working conditions are heavily regulated for quality of life then it might be fair to say striking is unreasonable.
stfupas
Imaging wanting to pay through the hole to live in D*blin
what does this even mean
i wold but im a bit embarrassed
There will always be people willing to do the job you're doing so if you're not happy with it, why not leave it to somebody who would be happy with it? Everyone benefits that way: you, your employer and your replacement. Whereas striking just inconveniences your employer and perhaps the public depending on the job (i.e LUAS drivers and bus drivers)
Is spending what you can afford such a silly concept?
I wish I was stupid enough to make baitposts that good
Are you saying you wouldn't want to spend €900 a month to live in an eclectic inner city studio room?
off yourself leo
gonna walk the dog
awful blood in my throat
You wanted to share it and we want to read it, so post it. You'll feel bad if you let this glorious opportunity slip by.
>being able to lay down and relax while your microwave dinner is cooking
Man, Dublin really has it all.
Why do settled travelers love skinny tracksuit bottoms?
They think they're sexy
>praising Zappone
Well, from what I can see, many of Dublin's "model citizens" want the government to pay for them to live in Dublin.
Would it be cheaper to ship them back to Britian
Post better anime girls, Leo.
>Whereas striking just inconveniences your employer and perhaps the public depending on the job (i.e LUAS drivers and bus drivers)
This is why I think when you're job involves providing a necessary service to the public, work-to-rule is far better than striking. Imagine how much more positive public perception of a Bus Driver's strike would be if they just ran the service as normal but charged no fares. Nobody wants to be perceived as badly as the Luas drivers have been since their strike action.
>Is spending what you can afford such a silly concept?
But how else will Dublin hedonists support their ridiculous lifestyles while paying
Dubs back to England
Nordies back to Scotland
Corkonians back to Denmark
Limerickians back to Norway
Galwegians back to Spain
Leitrimians back to Purgatory
*paying exorbitant rents?
Is that just a converted hallway? Or is the hallway still functioning and you will have people regularly passing through your bedroom/kitchen/living room on their way to their equally depressing "apartments"?
>Imagine how much more positive public perception of a Bus Driver's strike would be if they just ran the service as normal but charged no fares
Then the public would love the strike and hope the workers never get their demands.
But the public don't have any say over whether the demands are met or not, so that's irrelevant. The point is that you'd be raising awareness of the strike action in the mind of every customer, continuing to provide the service that so many people depend on, generating positive feelings towards the drivers among the populace, and all while still hitting their employers in the pocket. It's win-win as far as I'm concerned, and would sure beat walking in circles with placards in the cold.
>Post better anime girls, Leo.
But Hideri is one of the best
>work-to-rule is far better than striking
I would argue that holds all the time and not just for the provision of necessary services. It shows less entitlement in my opinion
>Nobody wants to be perceived as badly as the Luas drivers have been since their strike action.
The Luas should be automated, the drivers are on big bucks and will probably be on big pensions too
>But how else will Dublin hedonists support their ridiculous lifestyles while paying
If people want to stupidly live beyond their means then they should take out loans. At least then they're not burdening landlords and employers
I don't know, I feel like there are higher priorities for deportation. Africans, Arabs, Eastern Europeans, etc. come to mind
>I would argue that holds all the time and not just for the provision of necessary services. It shows less entitlement in my opinion
It's worth bearing in mind that work-to-rule isn't possible in all industries though and its feasibility depends highly on the employer.
>the drivers are on big bucks and will probably be on big pensions too
For doing so very little too.
>If people want to stupidly live beyond their means then they should take out loans
I thought we learned why that was a bad idea in 2008?
shut up anime
Test
Nah, I'd take them over D*bs
Are you daft? You would rather have literal monkeys instead of Dubliners? Kys

Changing
>rural Ireland getting fucked by political incompetence and vested interests
Why some of us admire alternative parties like SF, will at least stir things up a bit and clear some of old rotting gunk from the political system. Should spur other parties into doing better.
Never going to achieve improvements by passing the baton from FG to FF and back every election cycle.
>succdems are "alternative"
>The Luas should be automated
I'm sure that will be done at some stage, once it is economically viable and safe... and once the other 90% of the EU have implemented it.
>once it is safe
Who cares? It's only Dublin.
>Who cares?
The petty bourg soyboys running the country who live in the city?
>apocalyptic storm of God's wrath on the way
>Tubridy is "conveniently" in London
But Sinn Fein are just angling to join the gunk too, particularly since they've been under Mary Lou rule, where every day they're trying to be more like Labour but at the same time a bit like Fianna Fail. Whenever they go into government they'll sell out just like Labour too.
The luas will be difficult to automate due to all the street running, particularly in the city centre in particular, it's possible but the technology is still a bit of a work in progress. If the planned metro goes ahead then most of the green line will become metro which they're planning to automate. Maybe we'll see automated trams by the time they reach Cork or Belfast, if ever.
J-just getting my Christmas geansaís for the Toy Show h-haha
>Francaigh
what does it mean?
Rats. Also I think it's the plural for French people but my grammar is rusty.
Went to order something on Amazon.co.uk, shipping to the Republic naturally, and the P&P came to £40. Changed the address to a Northern Irish one and it dropped to £5. This Northern Irish address is only a 2 minute drive away mind you. Irish people get screwed over by Amazon
>not getting free two-day delivery with prime
How much is prime a year? I don't think I buy from Amazon regularly enough to warrant a subscription to it. I know a shop I can get things delivered to and they'll hold it for me so it doesn't inconvenience me too much, I just don't like burdening them like that. Still beats something like Parcel Motel, I imagine that's expensive too
Something like 80-120, forget. I prefer Parcel Wizard as well.
Francach is the singular for both rat and French person. It's just a side effect of the historical word for the French coming from the tribe known in English as "Franks".
>paying 80 - 120 so you can spend all of your money more easily
That is America-tier consumerism
>criticising consumerism
That's some Solidarity-tier socialism.
t. just back from a 2 hour queue in that yank doughnut place in Blanchardstan.
Money is made to be spent.
Krispy Kreme? Yeah they're pretty damn good, good coffee too in my opinion.
Yeah, what a fucking disgrace that is.
>Southern fleg
>Defending niggers
HHHMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!
Watching RTÉ and stuff would have me fairly hard to tell the truth
SF in the Republic is a party of urbanites though (particularly with regard to their support base). I don't trust them to make any improvement on the current situation in rural Ireland.
